The first time we came to this restaurant everything was jaw dropping, the food was amazing and the customer service outstanding. We came in today for the chipotle chicken chilaquiles, the American breakfast and the avocado toast and we left very disappointed in the quality of the food and the customer service. Our server was Ernesto and he was not attentive not once during our visit did he ask us how the food was or offered us refills, he simply walked around talked to other coworkers and didn’t pay any attention to us even when I was complaining. The eggs on the American breakfast were cold, we didn’t even eat them because it seemed they had been left out for a long time. The bacon on the avocado toast was raw, literally it looked like they opened the package of bacon and just put it on the toast and the chilaquiles also had cold eggs, semi raw chewy chicken and the chipotle sauce was cold. Luckily there was a short, older lady that was very attentive to us she took our plates and give us refills on our coffee (she’s the only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one). Awesome experience today Saturday at Mantequilla Breakfast in Tijuana, Mexico!
Parking is definitely challenging, not many options, I recommend their valet parking service if you don’t know the area (I don’t know the area either lol.)
Staff were nice and welcoming, giving some excellent recommendations for our first time.
Patio seating and inside seating available. Nice relaxing atmosphere, very pleasant, and not too loud!
Food was delicious! My wife and her friend got the chilaquiles, I ordered the shrimp omelette. And fresh squeezed orange juice. Loved it!
Prices were between 200-300 Mex Pesos ($10-$15 USD). Pay in Mexican pesos if possible, you’ll avoid the exchange fee!

Mantequilla sucursal hipódromo fue lo que visitamos el día de hoy. Antes de empezar con la reseña comento que antes de esta visita ya hemos visitado este lugar anteriormente y ha sido en deleite, sin embargo en esta visita de hoy todo cambio. Sabemos que los restaurantes tienden a ser lentos con mal servicio y olvidadizos con nuestros platos cuando está en su máxima capacidad, pero el día de hoy nosotros llegamos a las 10am había un aproximado de un 30% de clientela en el lugar y con el staff suficiente para atender como corresponde. Pedimos de entrada unas bebidas de capuchino y jugos de naranja (Se tardaron 20 minutos en traernoslo a la mesa y seguíamos con la misma capacidad de clientela), los cafés llegaron fríos. Segundo punto; pedimos la comida y llego fría o a temperatura ambiente, lo mandamos recalentar y que creen? Ps se les olvidó la comida (Cabe destacar que ya a esta hora 11:45 ya estaba lleno el lugar) pero y dónde queda la coordinación? Dónde está la encargada al pendiente de las primeras mesas en llegar? En fin hasta que le recordamos a la gerente se nos trajo la comida y como era de esperarse solo se calentó el plato y la comida siguió igual. Comimos lo que pudimos para no malpasarnos y nos retiramos del lugar muy decepcionados, es una lástima que un lugar tan bueno y acogedor tenga este tipo de deficiencias, errores y faltas de protocolo en sus meseros y en el personal en general, un desayuno llegando desde las 10am y termino casi 12:15 pm por cuestión de las tardanzas en servicio.
