Seafood and prices here were really worth the drive from San Diego!
Restaurant was being constantly cleaned, but restroom definitely needed attention. The area around the restaurant reeked of sewage of some sort, but may have been normal for Tijuana.
Grilled oysters(Ostiones al carbon) and grilled oysters with cheese(Ostiones gratinados) are totally recommended!
Crocodile plate was tasty, exotic and not expensive. Octopus(al ajillo) was amazing, I also recommend!
I ate here on a Wednesday and there was a 2 for 1 deal. Everything I ordered came twice for the price of one!
Cabernet Sauvignon was so so, but went well with everything I ordered.
Service was constant and there was always someone available to help you.
Sitting outside was convenient because I smoke. It would have been great if the view was nice, but the beach isn't all that great.
There was entertainment, but I think the person singing probably wasn't the greatest singer.
This looked like more of a very humble family oriented restaurant which I liked being a tourist and not having to see other tourists.
If I ever come back to Playas Tijuanas again, I would DEFINITELY stop by here.
Spent 1,309 Pesos in all (they accept...
Read moreMy family and I went on a weekday when very little people were there, so we picked Maricos Colima just because it seem convenient as compared to all the other Mariscos places on the strip. I give them a three because they’re pretty average when it comes to Mariscos in Baja. One of the things that I found strange with them was that their bread on the shrimp, tasted like KFC breading, and it was kind of weird, because it made it taste like chicken instead of shrimp. I ordered the tuna ceviche, and I wasn’t impressed even though they tried to do a good presentation, which they did, but the actual tuna serving was not much as compared to the cucumber and other stuff that they put into it. I’ve had this similar dish in many other restaurants in Baja and I would say this was average at best. I love fish tacos, and I was not a fan of theirs. Not sure what was the problem with the fish wasn’t that great. The price was moderate not too expensive, but also not a great bargain. Again average, I guess for the Playas Tijuana, the spot is OK since it’s more of a local bohemian vibe. There are much nicer Mariscos seafood restaurants along the Baja coast. And even dive shack the taquerias that serve...
Read moreWent on a Saturday afternoon. First vist. It was a bit busy. Sat by the window. Was greeted by our server within a couple of minutes and given our menus. I wanted to try Shrimp AL Mojo De Ajo but instead ordered a Skirt steak. Had a lime margarita. Slushy and salted but I think I sucked the liquor in two slurps! The food arrived in reasonable time. The steak was a bit thick but seasoned well. Was served with steamed rice and grilled nopales and green onion. Garnished with a little lettuce, sliced tomatoes and cucumber. The rice was too cold and bland. I only ate the steak and a little of the nopal. There was a Norteño band which was too loud for my liking. Despite the good service from our server I was disappointed. Great view of the ocean. For quality not worth the price....
