Before you read this review, keep in mind I am an American, so naturally I have different tastes. I also ate here during 12pm, right on opening. My group of friends also all paid for the buffet right on opening.
This is all my opinion, I encourage you to make your own if you wish.
Fries: Decent, but salty (I know, an American talking about fries in a buffet)
Mashed potatoes: Needed more butter but otherwise okay.
Pasta in general: Sauces are light, and honestly a little bland to me personally. The lasagna is heavy and okay for me but nothing special.
Corn chowder: Okay by itself, but if you mix in some sugar (not a whole bunch) you'll find it can have a different flavor to it.
Sushi: Too much rice, too little filling, and the seeds on tip give it an overall weird flavor. My opinion? If they just made them with half the rice they make it with now and take off about half the seeds they usually put, you would have a decent roll.
Rice: The rice comes in different varieties but they do taste strange to me. The calmest flavor was the rice with carrots and peas.
Asian dishes: Overall the Asian dishes are rather good, can't go wrong with bell peppers.
Bread: The bread in general wasn't very good in general to me, the garlic bread not being made crispy is an example. Another example is the chocolate cakes weren't very good at all, like they were either too mushy or too dry. But that might just be me being ignorant on how things are served in TJ.
Overall: From what I've tasted and heard from the people I went with, the place seems like they got food. Just food. If you're real hungry, then they got you.
At the very least the customer service is excellent and attentive, so no complaints there.
Do keep in mind this is coming from an American in TJ with a different taste and pallette, so maybe my input isn't valid in certain regards. But hey, you're certainly welcome to try the food and taste it...
Read moreThis is an American style all-you-can-eat buffet. Originally founded in Oklahoma City OK USA in the 1960s, this chain has dozens of locations across Mexico. It is typical American buffet food with pastas, pizzas, salad bar, and some protein options. I was disappointed to discover that, despite the name, steaks are no longer included in the buffet and require a separate upcharge for one. My wife and I had a 2 for 1 promotional coupon and, with that offer, we found the food to be a good value. Soda, waters, and coffee are available in addition to the food options. We found the space to be clean and...
Read moreMy experience in this restaurant was good, the food was delicious, except for the meat that was a little difficult to cut, but the other dishes that we tried were good, the service was very fine, the waiter was very fast, and he bring our drink like in 5 minutes, and he was very kind to us, and attractive. The space was okay, we weren’t tight. The fact that was a buffet gives it more points, because we don’t have to wait for our foods, we all tried pizza and we liked it, it wasn’t the best but it was good. By the time I go to that restaurant again I will have already decided what...
