One Hotel has so many advantages. Located in Plaza Alameda Otay, there are a plethora of shops, and eateries within a very short walking distance, including a full grocery store, Home Depot, 7-11, Toks, a pharmacy, fast food, slow food, healthy food, bars, you name it. There is a Starbucks next door, a Baristi within 20 meters and a D'Volada at the other end of the Plaza.
The hotel was clean. My room was minimalist but comfortable. It had the basics. No iron nor ironing board, no drawers, but there was a mirror, a TV with remote. The window had a view of shops and apartments across the way, but had blackout shades. The AC and heater worked.
There was a decent hot breakfast with eggs, beans, chilaquiles, cereals, fruit, coffee, juice, breads, etc.
The staff was reasonably efficient and friendly. They have free Internet / WiFi.
Why only 3 stars? It has nothing to do with the hotel itself. The issue is that on weekends, the bar across the street has VERY loud music (techno and the like) till past 2 AM. I used a sound decibel meter from inside my room and registered between 35 to 60 decibels of noise. Not only was it loud, but it was obnoxious. Thankfully, I have a White Noise app and a Bluetooth speaker, which helped mask over the ruckus, so I was able to get to sleep by 1 AM. If you are not prepared with something like that, you may simply be at the mercy of the noise.
During weekdays it is quieter. Monday and Tuesday night were relatively calm. There was just some minor traffic noise from the street below. If you stay here I recommend you request a room on the back side NOT facing the Food Garden and Cerveceria. It may be a little quieter.
One Hotel is a good chain offering a no frills clean place to sleep with a hot breakfast. The location is excellent except for the proximity of the Cerveceria which is the fly in...
Read moreThis is definitely that “One Hotel” you do NOT want to stay to find relaxation or if your looking to be served as a respected consumer and disabled traveler.
First off you cannot call to make a reservation directly with them nor do they have the authority to reserve anything for their customers on site. All room reservations are directed through online reservations using all the reservations platforms available such as expedia , Travelocity, booking, etc., other than direct reservations with the hotel. All is done by Kiosk inside hotel. Receptionist is only useful to find your reservation you made online with one of their affiliates. Then your sent to complete the rest of reservation to a terminal.
Reserved at Expedia filtering search to travel with 17 year old service animal . Arrived at check in and management denied any service with my service dog . They also denied canceling reservation on their end for not accepting my reservation so I can have Expedia reimburse my fees. Or accommodate me due to whom they use to market the hotel has service dogs allowed on the site at the time of reservation. Management did not care of my loss of money since I did not pay directly with them as she states on my partial uploaded recorded 4 minute video of management.
I will follow up with Profeco with...
Read moreGoogle does not know where this hotel is. Google: Sirloin Stockade Restaurant. Front desk reps were fantastic. Rooms clean, Nice, beds comfy and smelled nice. If you are looking for a quiet hotel this is not it. Lol Night clubs were going on until they closed p art of the bad review, second reason for bad review is the customer service at breakfast. We did not eat there but I wanted to grab a coffee and some fruit to go since we had a plane to catch. I took a 6oz yogurt cup to fill it with maybe 4 cubes of watermelon and was spoken to loudly “The plates are for the fruit.” I was startled like I did something wrong. This lady never said excuse me good morning ma’am the plates are for the fruit. I said oh I’m taking it to go. She “You can’t do that” loudly again, mind you its a 6 oz cup that can only fit like 4 cubes of watermelon. She never asked if we ate there already. This has NEVER happened at any hotel before.
