City Express by Marriott Tijuana Otay — Hotel in Baja California

I am quite sure that many negative reviewers here have mistaken this hotel for City Express Junior, which is right next door and really needs a clear and distinct name. The criticisms are completely inapplicable to City Express by Marriott, which is very nice hotel. My room was clean, quiet, modern and well-maintained with nice fixtures, nice shower, and a plush bed. Generous towels, intelligently located outlets, solid wifi and aircon, as well as a TV featuring a good selection of bilingual programming all rounded out my positive experience. The hotel is located in a complex with numerous eateries and a couple of other hotels, which is only a short hop to airport, so you can check the box for convenience. I had booked a reservation back on 7/19/2023 to have a stay here from Aug 10-14, so I did and once the day came to check in, we found out that it got canceled without no warning. Once we left the property, we barely get the email stating that it was cancelled. I am confused on why they did this? I was going to pay cash once I got there. We drove from Orange County CA and just for them to tell us that was extremely inconvenient. We had to drive another 20 min to another hotel which was in an area I wasn’t familiar...

Al momento de reservar nos ofrecieron un descuento de 'socio' que además incluía recogernos en el aeropuerto, pago a meses sin intereses y traslados en un radio de 5km. Solicitamos early check-in ya que teníamos el día programado.

Al tratar de agendar que nos recogieran en el aeropuerto, resulta que no se podía. (A pesar de estar a 5min).

Al llegar al hotel no tenían nuestra habitación lista.

Al pagar no había ninguna opción para meses sin intereses.

Aún con un descuento de 'socio' la habitación doble con 1 cama cuesta alrededor de 2mil pesos (desayuno incluido).

El desayuno consta de café, té o jugo, fruta y chilaquiles acompañados de huevo y frijoles. La variedades de la fruta nunca cambia y en una ocasión me tocó sandía súper pasada. La salsa de los chilaquiles se alterna entre roja y verde cada día. El huevo también lo alternan. A pesar de que no es terrible, después de 5 días ya no puedes desayunar lo mismo.

La habitación es MUY pequeña, incómoda y la televisión es súper antigua, tiene si acaso 10 canales.

Cuando una habitación es para dos personas se deben dejar 2 toallas pero aquí ni una nos dejaron. Se llamó a recepción y nos indicaron que las estaban lavando, se llamó al día siguiente y las seguían lavando. Así fueron 3 días consecutivos en los que tuvimos que bajar a recepción hasta que nos entregaran unas toallas.

El servicio de traslado en un radio de 5km únicamente aplica hasta la 1 de la tarde. No sé si aplique para llevarte al aeropuerto pero prepárate porque en todo Tijuana manejan como si...
