Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Cancún

Love the chicken - hate the service. Been coming here for 2+ years now and it is always the same story. Slooooooow service. Without fail one of the staff is always about to go on a break or just about to leave as they work the front counter, so the clients have to wait for the manager to ask another employee to cover the front. Their credit card machine is always loosing connection, and if I pay with pesos, they always short me 2-3 pesos. Today I came in and ordered the 12 piece special + fries, waited 22 minutes for the order to be fulfilled - they had the chicken, they had the elotes, and they had the mash, I don’t understand why it took them 22 minutes to make fries. I watched them fill my order, it is not like they made the chicken from scratch, they just picked it up from the trays and put it in a box. Their credit card machine could not connect to their wifi and the register worker raised the machine like the Statue of Liberty trying to get signal, so I gave her cash instead and after she gave me my change she said “oops, I forgot 2 pesos,” which is the same thing a different cashier rep said to me a couple of months ago (exactly same scenario, same order).

Went 9:40pm after a stressful day looking for a quick bite. They were awfully rude. We knocked on the door and the guy sweeping the floor just looked at us and completely ignored us. If they close at 10pm, you should be able to provide service 15mins before the the closing time. It’s not the first time we get despicable service at this location, take your business somewhere else else if you can. We ended up going to Pescaditos on Yaxchilan. Way tastier...

Classic American fried chicken place. Appearance to be run better than those in USA and the food quality shows it. Fresh hot not over cooked or cold. The staff were very friendly and service oriented. The only drawback is location. There seems to be an illicit drug trade happening in or near the street next to the restaurant. We have been here twice at different times of day and witnessed the same thing. Makes me not...
