The Bowl Bar — Restaurant in Cancún

After many tacos, birria ramen, burritos, and micheladas my husband and I felt the need to eat something healthy for once on our vacation in Cancun. I found this place in Google maps and glad I did! I believe I ordered the Mediterranean bowl and my husband ordered the Mexican bowl. They were both spectacularly delicious! The only thing that threw me off for a second is the taziki sauce that came with mine was slightly sweet, like it was made with crema instead of yogurt. It tasted nice when mixed in the bowl but if you're used to tangy taziki sauces like I am, it might surprise you a bit. I also had a drink called the "anti-flu", it was a freshly made smoothie and oh goodness how delicious it was! Prices were very reasonable and they had menus in both English and Spanish, they were also full of so many items to choose from! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for something else other than tacos and various street foods and want something healthier that won't make you feel heavy! We will be back...

The service and wait time was terrible. I waited 15-20 minutes for someone to take my order. She assumed I didn’t speak Spanish so she gave me a QR code menu until I asked for a paper menu like she had given everyone else.

When I finally ordered, she did not write my order down and kept getting it wrong. It took maybe 10-15 minutes for me to get the coffee and the juice I ordered.

After waiting another 15-20 minutes another waiter came out and said they ran out of the açaí bowl I ordered and offered to make a different own.

When she finally brought my açaí bowl after waiting another 20-25 minutes, it was missing the blueberries I had asked for. I watched everyone around me, people who came after me get their orders way before me and LEAVE before me.

I have a strong allergy to dairy and I asked the server at least 10 times to be careful with that because it can kill me. I spoke in Spanish and I say to him, please be careful because it can kill me. I spoke in Spanish because I need to be extra sure about what I eat. The guy bring me the sandwich and my wife saw some white cream, she asked one more time and the guy assured me about that sandwich was without dairy, he said it’s mayonnaise. Obv I can eat mayonnaise since it’s made with eggs. I’ll be sick for days and I’m sure they ruined me my 3 days of vacation. Be aware in that restaurant if you have food allergy, they will kill you.
