This place isn’t bad but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be, either. Based on my experience, the reviews are over-exaggerated. We ordered a starter of pickled octopus tostada (fantastic) and mains of: duck enchiladas and pork belly with black mole. The tostada was phenomenal: beautifully balanced and fresh. The mains were a total letdown: the enchiladas were lacklustre, bitter and heavy on the cinnamon. They were served lukewarm. The pork belly was beautifully cooked with a crispy skin but the dish as a whole was sickly sweet and everything was cold. It also consisted of only 2 tiny pieces of pork accompanied by various swirls of sauces: all of which were sweet. We’d have relayed this information back to the kitchen but not once we were asked about our meal - not during nor after. The views are lovely, wine list is okay albeit pricey and the service is friendly but not very professional. I would much rather spend my money elsewhere. And, if it were a special occasion, I’d have been really...
Read moreThis used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Mazatlán but the last couple of times we've gone they have fallen flat. We went last night, after a year of not going, hoping things had been turned around. Long story short food is underwhelming especially considering the price being charged. Wife and I ordered the surfy and turf guacamole and the barbacoa tacos for appetizers. Guacamole had no flavor, turf part was ribeye that was hard as rocks, barbacoa tacos were alright but nothing to write home about. The main courses were spectacular and saved the night. Pollo in mole rosa and pork belly in black mole were phenomenal!!! Perfectly cooked, presented and taste was incredible for both. Drinks were mediocre, stick to water. However service is dreadful, slow and...
Read moreBeautiful setting on a second story porch over the Plazuela Machado. We were here for dinner during Dios de los Muertos, thinking we would have a nice view of the parade, but that was not the case. Trees and distance made the view not great... But, the food and service was great and it is upscale, costs on par with fine American restaurants. Drinks were unique and delicious, a roasted tomato bisque was yummy. Chips and salsa was very good, but careful with the one in the green cup, muy caliente! Our dishes, the pollo in pink molle and shrinp in black squid ink were very good. Service was very professional, with two servers for each table. Reservations online required, we saw people get turned away for dinner service without a...
