Don Queque Café — Restaurant in Chetumal

Worst service in Chetumal so far. Heard good things about the food so I walked across town from my hotel to try. Bought a cold juice on the way to cool off from the sun and heat. When I arrived I couldn't enter with my half cup of orange juice, even though I was planning on purchasing a full meal and beverage anyway. Pretty unnecessary and disappointing.

Edit: 1) Refusal of service is also subject to review, as food is only one factor of a review, and service starts at the door. 2) The restaurant I arrived immediately after (Tea Moji Café) had absolutely no problem allowing me inside with a half-finished beverage to sit-down and order a full meal and coffee. This place was pretty damn tasty. The breads are incredibly soft. We went here for dinner, and we got the Quequitos con Pollo, Don Queque sandwich, the Chetumaleño sandwich and the Fry Jacks.

The Quequitos were the best thing we had, in my opinion. Throw some of the salsa picante (habanero sauce) on it, and you got yourself one of the more delicious little treats in Chetumal.

They were incredibly friendly, and the food was all good. I would not reorder the Fry Jacks only because it is basically a bean and cheese burrito or tostada (but the bread they use with that one is good...I just think it would be better with some cinnamon and sugar...

La comida es deliciosa y muy recomendable. El ambiente es tranquilo para pasarla con amigos y una buena charla. 🗣 Solo asegúrate de llegar a tiempo porque cierran en punto de la 10pm. ⌚️ El café de la casa es refil. 👌 Te recomiendo mucho el sandwich beliceño pues contiene pan bon de muy buena calidad: suavecito, esponjoso y nada reseco. Saboreas desde el primer, hasta el último vocado. 😁 El menú es amplio y variado. Si quieres conocer cositas de la región (queso de bola, tulip, combinación de cheese whiz con pan bon ) este es el lugar para tí.😉👌 Si quieres probar el pan estilo beliceño hecho con leche de coco,🥥🥥vendrás al lugar correcto. Tienes que probar el "queque" calientito que se te acabará en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. 😅 También te recomiendo el sandwich chetumaleño. 🍞 Me encanta la cantidad de cositas vintage que decoran el lugar, desde un televisor, hasta carteles, cuadros, libros, discos de acetato y muchos detalles que te harán trasladarte.
