Café Mooa — Restaurant in Chiapas

I give only 3 stars, because the wifi is exceptionally bad, of which the owner is aware, but he consciously refuses to improve it. I feel that is a sign of disrespect to clients, and that his reasoning that otherwise people will be occupying space without consuming is inaccurate and outdated. Even more so, because he put signs on the table that limit use of screens to 2 hours, so why thwart the wifi on purpose on top of that then? To add insult to injury, he just raised the prices, while they have stayed unchanged elsewhere.

So far I am seemingly the only one addressing this situation here, but the staff told me they are being asked about the wifi by clients constantly, but that the owner simply refuses to budge. Therefore only loss of income may move him towards that, and I feel that is what he deserves for being stubbornly disrespectful.

Apart from the owner, the staff is lovely and the food and drinks, although pricey, are good. All credit to the staff and all the best to them. Like all Mexican workers they deserve support, but the owner's attitude and the wifi situation make me go there less...

Café Mooa is one of my favorite cafes in San Cris! The owners Gio and Angel always welcomed me with a smile and will engage in interesting conversations if it’s later in the day with less customers past the breakfast rush. They bake their own bagels early every morning ensuring that what they’re serving is fresh and they also make their dipping sauces and vegan ice cream 😋 I love that they have 2 outdoor sitting spaces and the music is always good. Mooa Coffee is a gem! The coffee here is fantastic—rich and flavorful, definitely one of the best brews around. I also tried their bagels, and wow, they were delicious! The only downside? The breakfast deals felt a bit small; I was still a little hungry after. But the atmosphere makes up for it—super cozy and inviting, perfect for a chill morning.
