Lakrilla Burger Shop — Restaurant in Ensenada

An Uber driver told my wife these were the best burgers in town and I now believe him! My Spanish is limited so Carlos the proprietor happily translated the menu for me. Their burgers on the menu are each a special recipe and they look great! Even so, Carlos was happy to ask the cook to make a couple special orders. There were a handful of other customers yet it seemed I barely waited 8 minutes. The burgers were cooked prefectly, medium rare/pink! With gouda cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms, served with baby greens and slices of tasty ripe tomatos. And the regular fries and jungle (steak) fries were cooked just the right amount of crispy! If you go to this place bring cash and preferably in local currency, pesos! They don’t accept credit cards (cause don’t want to pay master card/ Visa nor American Express commissions) and if you dare to pay in USD dollars they will take advantage giving you the lowest exchange rate in their favor. Came here on a recommendation from a bartender we met while traveling. I travel to Ensenada about twice a month and Lakrilla is by far the best burger spot in Ensenada… let alone Baja Norte. I ordered the Miami burger… which was phenomenal. My buddy ordered the California and devoured it. Highly recommend this place if you don’t want tacos or ceviche:). Also… it helps...
