Sierra Bbq — Restaurant in Guanajuato

Metate is a hidden gem in Guanajato!! It is a short walk from the city center and it is so worth it. The staff is great, so polite and friendly and our waiter was perfectly bilingual. The drinks are incredible - they have locally made mezcal and pulque - the pulque that is flavored with piña and guayaba were my favorite.The food!! All of the food is freshly made on site and so good - our group of 5 did the "buffet" and they brought us plate after plate of incredible dishes all for 150 pesos (about $8)...

This place was excellent, with a very modern take and twist to tacos. I was sceptical going in (the place was filled with western foreigners, so I didn’t think I’d get a authentic experience)but was extremely pleased with all the tacos, the guacamole, the mezcal and the service. They were attentive and helpful (although slow at times). And we left very satisfied with our fill of delicious tacos...

We had a wonderful dinner at Los Campos (sister restaurant) and were hoping for great things at Metate. The tacos were very good. The plantains were tasty too.
