We were a party of 4 without a reservation at 7:30 pm. We were seated in the area where you do not experience the scenic view of the church and town near the bar. We are English speaking with limited Spanish but usually fare well in restaurants. Our waiter spoke Spanish, rapidly and no English. We placed our orders. Two of our party ordered a shrimp dish with mashed potatoes and sautéed veg. The veg were cooked well but the shrimp were tasteless and everything on the plate was drenched in an orange flavored sauce. It was unpalatable and my spouse left 2/3 of his meal. Another diner ordered the arrachera fajitas which was accompanied by beans and avocado. We were surprised when the dish arrived, sliced meat with some onions and peppers in a ‘gravy’. There were plenty of warm corn tortillas to wrap it in. It did not taste bad but certainly was not what was anticipated. I ordered ribs. My sides were a half cob of grilled corn (inedible, so dry that the individual kernels were each indented) and a small mixed salad, fine. I had asked for additional dipping sauce on the side that our waiter either didn’t understand or forgot but the ribs were good nonetheless. We each ordered a beer. Had the food been good, I don’t think the prices are out of line but given our experience it was an exceptionally disappointing experience. Thankfully, we know a good churro cart on the corner of Progresso & Reforma that saved...
Read moreThis is a one star experience at it’s not so finest. The service staff were not happy or trained. The waitress (who was very busy texting on her phone) walked up and took my empty water glass after I finished my water; and then did not bring it back, and here’s the crazy thing, I didn’t have food yet. When I asked her for a glass of water initially for everyone at my table, she was very surprised. It was just not an attentive waitress. The roof is like an oven at this restaurant. The environment all around it is comprised of large water containers on roofs. Food: It was about 30 minutes from the time we ordered our food to the time I had written about this much in the review, and the food was still not here, and the restaurant had only three other tables up here. I went to another restaurant yesterday that was faster than this, busier than this, nicer than this, and better priced than this. I would not return here. I’m not really sure how this restaurant has 4.5 stars on Google Reviews. If you gave it two stars, I might agree. The drinks are expensive and not worth the price either. The food was good but portions were small for the price. With good service you could have saved this, but,...
Read moreI LOVED THIS PLACE. Friends and I went here once but they wanted to go somewhere else. We just had drinks, salsa, chips and guacamole. I loved it and Antonio was our waiter. AMAZING. I came back on my own (as I was taking a Spanish class in Tlaquepaque) and Antonio was my waiter again. Before I begin talking about him, let me say I have been in 4 and 5 star resorts for 17 years. Antonio was 5 + star. He was on top of things EVERY SECOND of my visit. He anticipated when I was done with apps (highly recommend the guacamole and salsas (the green one is WHOA but so good)). The view, the drinks, the food, the service, EVERYTHING. GO HERE and you will not be disappointed at all. I hope to come back next year and work on my Spanish conversation and will definitely come back to this place. I hope the managers read this and give Antonio his recognition that he...
