This place is absolutely FANTASTIC! It was featured in the movie, “El Mariachi Gringo”. It has a very mellow ambiance. Soft Spanish music plays as you dine. Staff are very welcoming, friendly, and fast. The birria de chivo (Goat stew) was super tender and loaded with flavor. The flavor of the goat is so well hidden that it tastes like succulent beef. It is an absolute must, when dining here. Additionally, all the other food we ordered was just as delicious and arrived at the table hot and fresh. Even my “picky eater” devoured a hamburger and French fries, which he stated was better than any American burger he has ever tasted!
Prices are very inexpensive as well (we paid $45 for dinner, for a party of seven!).
Lastly, we met the owner (Federico), while dining. It is absolutely evident that he leads his staff with kindness and compassion, as they seem to all work together in unison to ensure customer service is the number one priority. At the conclusion of our meal, Federico went “above and beyond the call of duty”, and took the time to take us on a short tour of where the movie was shot as well. Truly, this is a place to go if you want to feel as though, you are back home in your own mother’s kitchen.
Phenomenal food, service, and ambiance! We will be back...

Arguably Jalisco’s favorite spot for Birria, hours from 8am until 9pm plus fair prices equally appealing to tourists and locals, early arrival is recommended to avoid long queues and also to sample Breakfast options such as hearty Chilaquiles with dueling Salsas and a choice of Protein.
Using an old recipe for the slow-cooked Goat Stew, boneless with a lot less acidity and more fattiness than seen elsewhere, diners are welcome to add Lime or Onions to brighten things to their liking while those seeking something even richer can try a griddled handmade Tortilla with Meat and stretchy local Cheese...
Read moreWow, everything about this place is amazing. It's a beautiful little restaurant that sits on a cute corner square. I came here for the birria but stayed for so much more. The birria was absolutely delicious goat meat so tender and deliciously soaking in its own juices. It was so good I asked for half an avocado just to eat with it in the tortillas they gave me along side beans, chips, and salsa... this all made it into quite a meal.
Nevertheless with food this good I had to explore more of their menu!
They allow you to order three tacos of several variety for 69 pesos. So I ordered a barbacoa, a cochinita pibil estilo yucateco, and a chicharron de cachette en salsa roja, plus one quesadilla just to top it off. I thought the barbacoa had stolen the show away from even the delicious birra, but then out of nowhere the chicharron in red sauce stepped up and knocked it out of the park. Amazing.
