My family and I stayed here for a night. We chose this hotel because it was in the downtown area and thought we could walk to a lot of the attractions. Our room was on the third (highest) floor. The hotel is charming: I like the dark wood with yellow painted walls. The ceiling was painted to look like the sky like in the Venetian in Las Vegas. The bed was comfortable enough but the bedding was old and the decorative pillows look tired. The bathroom was remodeled and had a rainfall shower head. I wish they had updated the towels as well. They embroidered with the hotel’s name but were really old. Complimentary wi-if is available and fast enough to stream Netflix. It has a rooftop pool, gym, and a spa but we didn’t use any of these amenities. The pool looked like maybe it was under construction, the gym was small with two treadmills, a stationary bike, and couple of nautilus weight machines. The “spa” was a small room with two massage beds. This hotel is suppose to be a 4 or 5 star hotel and it technically has these amenities but in my opinion they were not worth using. One of the elevators was out of service and the working one had really poor lighting. The staff was friendly and we had no issues with check in/out. There’s an airport shuttle for 300 pesos for up to 4 people. We didn’t eat the breakfast at the hotel and instead opted to walk up to La Chata. 30 minutes wait on a Saturday morning at 10:30am. We had a street performer singing for us while we waited so it was an entertaining wait listening to the singer and people-watching. I don’t think we’ll want to stay at this hotel again. We also stayed at the Riu Plaza and the kids preferred the Riu. It’s more expensive but worth it. It’s about a 20 minutes drive from Riu to this area. I think we’ll just take an Uber and stay at the Riu.

For this hotel to get 5 stars, I recommend they update the bedding and towels, finish construction in the pool area, and fix the elevator. My husband thinks this hotel is awesome for $86usd but I’m willing to pay $40 extra...

Our stay was from January 3-6, 2024. We went with four other families for a holiday vacation. Each family member had nothing good to say about this hotel. Our Uber driver told us on our way there. It’s an older hotel and the front street is OK but do not walk one block south in the evening as it is a very dangerous area.

The hotel itself is very old, outdated. My two children and I shared a room with two beds that are very uncomfortable and full size not queen size beds. We were awoken at 3:30. To water Dripping the AC unit. At first I didn’t think anything of it, but then it started pouring water that we could no longer sleep. It flooded the room where my sons luggage was and wet all his clothes and the whole ground was wet. When we called, they said maintenance did not get in until 10 am. We had scheduled tours and excursions that morning so we had to leave the room. I asked him to not go in there until we got back as everything was soaking wet.

They called me later that day, and said the only thing they could do wash our clothes for us And they would look into moving us into another room when we got back. I’m sorry, but this is very unacceptable. They should’ve at least compensated with some kind of discount for the inconvenience, lack of sleep we had that night. They moved us up to the highest level in a corner next to high-voltage area.

The other families that went with us complained about the bed being uncomfortable. There was families children that were They couldn’t sleep

The front desk Were all very rude in the three days we were there. We never saw any of them smile each time that we went up to them nor were they very accommodating.

I would highly recommend you not reserve to stay here on your visit To Guadalajara. Very...

The hotel was historic and beautiful. However it was almost completely empty, seems Devine right? Our room out of all 98 rooms was right next to where they are remodeling, right outside our door and the open concept is beautiful and nice but the out of control screaming kids which the parents refused to control echoed throughout the hotel. We called reception to help out, nothing. Our first night I called to ask if we checked out in the morning would they refund our second night. The attendant said yes it was possible. Early the next day we packed up because again the screaming kids were up at the crack of dawn. I took videos for mgmt to witness, we went to check out and they said no to refunding our second night. Not a problem because our cc reversed the charge. The problem was after talking to the concierge the manager agreed to contact upper mgmt to get approval. He said to give him a week. A week later we contacted the hotel again, the girl at the front desk said no one could help me. I asked for Francisco, the concierge, the only one that cared, she said he wasn’t there. I insisted I’d hold til he got there, he magically appeared, I made 2 more calls finally I was told a refund was issued and he would email the refund, a week later still no email. Our dispute with our cc was credited today. Don’t be fooled by how beautiful the hotel is because management and the girls in reception are incompetent. They didn’t want to refund because they had an empty hotel that was in the middle of a remodel. I never leave a bad review but this is the absolute worst service I’ve ever received. I gave them a 1 star review when they didn’t even deserve 1 star. They all need to be retrained in customer service. I hope higher management reviews this. And...

Some of the rooms don't have an exterior windows and only have interior windows. I paid for suite and I got a hotel room. I did however get a balcony. All rooms don't come with refrigerators which is very unusual it would not designate this hotel to be five stars because of the lack of amenities. Pool is fine water is a good temperature and it is refreshing. Curtains on the interior and the exterior of my hotel room are filthy and clearly haven't been cleaned and this century. I have chipped paint on my bathroom door and the floor needs to be waxed. I would say the room is only relatively clean. My room was supposed to be 377 ft but that's impossible. Room is much smaller than the description. And for some odd reason there's no chairs on the balcony. Probably because they would be impossible to keep clean. What the hotel really needs is for the head of the maids to go through the rooms and designate what the problems are with each room are. I like the location of the hotel but due to the dustiness and lack of refrigerators would have to think twice about staying here again. The architecture of the hotel is very beautiful but there's places where things just look unattractive and are not hidden from guests views. There are around 10 used air conditioners by the entrance to get to the pool and I don't think anybody wants to see that it looks tacky. The architecture of the hotel and lobby are really basically the highlights of the hotel. Gate 1 tours uses this hotel. This could be a great hotel if care was taken to detail.

I've stayed in Hotels all across the US, in Canada, and from Honduras to Poland. I must say that Hotel Morales is one of the nicest (top 3) hotel experiences I've ever had. From Location, to amenities, to service, it was top notch! I stayed here to bring in the New Year (2025) in Guadalajara, which this locale is perfect for in terms of proximity to shopping, dining, and landmarks/city center. The room was immaculate and had TV, A/C, luxury bathroom, and motion sensor lights when you open the closet. The dining is open daily and door staff are friendly and helpful and always on duty. Front desk staff is available 24/7 and some of the most professional and welcoming Ive met! You are mere minutes/blocks away from the central square and gorgeous cathedrals. There are convenience stores near by, and great cafes and restaurants. There are even a couple Currency Exchange places and a Bank right around the corner. This location is accessible by taxi/uber and by foot. Local transport (tram and subway) are also just a few blocks away in the city center, where there are also bikes for rent. I will stay here again when I come back for a Chivas game, and I recommend you do the same when you visit Guadalajara! (I stayed here from 12/30/24 to 1/1/25)

This is our third time in Guadalajara. And, our third visit and stay at the Hotel Morales. This time we came with our oldest granddaughter, who is on her way to college in a few months, and was her choice of destination. A few years have passed, but this hotel is still doing very well. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, and they have an excellent restaurant on the main floor, which offers a variety of good items on their menu. On weekends, they have a buffet that offers chilaquiles, omelets, frijoles, salchichas, fruit juices, mexican bread and other items to choose from. The hotel is centrally located to just about anywhere you may want to visit, like Tequila, Tonola, Tlaquepaque, Ajijic, Chapala or you may want to take a taxi and go to the Zoologico de Guadalajara. This was one of the highlights of our visit. Worth a few hours of your day, and you won't be disappointed. So much to see there. Although we have booked with the same company, on this trip, there was three of us and it seems like we got a smaller room. And that's because we booked a while ago. I thinking...busy time of year? Anyways. If you want a comfortable place to stay at and, still be close to town , try the Hotel Morales.
