Updated Look! The CafeLAND team has made many very fine and dramatic esthetic updates, reopening today. The service falls within the local average, globally below average. I tested the huevos ala mexicana, café, and a chocolate cupcake (given as an opening welcome).
Value: 2/5 Estetics: 4/5 (NEW! today) Quality: 3/5 Taste: 2/5 (cafe 3/5, comida 2/5, postre 2/5) Service: 3/5 (for GDL); 2/5 (globally)
The huevos ala mexicana were "okay." For $65 pesos, the mercado is a better value and quality for $45 pesos including cafe, often with juice not "or." The cheese on the frijoles is a type that, to me, makes the beans taste fermented. Instead of the expected tortillas in the tortilla container, it held chunks of dry, cold, non-toasted French bread without butter or preserves/mermilade.
The cafe was just okay also. It is surprising that any "real" coffee place does not use real cream or half-and-half. The texture of cold milk is always wrong for coffee, lacking the correct fat content for the proper blend. Milk just disappears. The postre was within standards/average, dry and the chocolate never tastes like chocolate.
