El Abajeño Tlaquepaque — Restaurant in Jalisco

A friend of mine recommended this restaurant. It is a few blocks from the El Parian in Tlaquepaque. The dinning area is amazing. We were seated in an open area with a cover by tree overhang. The tables around us were reserved and we got a chance to sit in a very nice spot.

The staff were amazing. We had more than one waiter serving us. We got our drinks and then ordered a salad followed by red enchiladas. The salad had 4 large leafs of lettuce. With the dressing on top and bread croutons. The taste of the salad was amazing. One of the best salads I have ever had. The enchiladas did not disappoint. We filled up quickly by sharing both dishes. We kept a menu just in case we didn't fill up but didn't use it.

I highly recommend El Abajeno Tlaquepaque restaurant. The prices are much lower than dinner at El Parian and the food and the service is much better. Go and try El Abajeno restaurant. You won't be...

I am going to be real honest here, I think if you are looking for a Mexican restaurant experience o don't recommend this one, food was ok, but not incredible, like going to any other place to eat on the streets and we tried a loooot of dishes. By the way they took so long to arrive.

Probably they had short staff that day, but they brought things we never order like a lot of drinks. We ended up keeping them because they couldn't figure out for which table was it, so I don't want to believe that they use that as a strategy to sell more but who knows.

The attitude of the servers were like always in a rush (I understand that they have to be fast) however they wouldn't even listen to you carefully while taking your order.

Érase una vez, un martes por la noche, cuando un extranjero que adoraba la comida mexicana decidió llevar a su novia mexicana y a su familia a un restaurante llamado El Abajeño en Tlaquepaque. Este no era su primer viaje a México, y siempre había tenido experiencias culinarias maravillosas. Pero esa noche, todo fue diferente. Habían hecho la reserva para las 8 pm, creyendo que el restaurante cerraba a las 10 pm. Sin embargo, al llegar, fueron sorprendidos por un giro inesperado: el restaurante cerraba a las 9:30 pm y la cocina estaba a punto de cerrar. El grupo, que incluía a una mujer embarazada, se sintió apresurado y no bienvenido desde el primer momento. Decidieron seguir adelante y pidieron la "Combinación Mexicana No. 2". Pero, como en un cuento de terror, el arroz llegó frío, la carne estaba tan dura como una roca y los frijoles apenas eran comestibles.
