It's not my first time here. I know this place from a while ago and it representa a good choice for French food in Guadalajara. It's very well known and popular among doctors, so you can say pretty much that they have a cautive target with them. Every time I've come the food is truly enjoyable and close to French cuisine. I guess I can say my favourite dishea here and I can attest they're good are the L'Entrecôte Roquefort and the Filet Mignon. I must say comparing the scargots here to those I had a few weeks ago at Balthazar in NY, the Balthazar's were way much better, more moisty and buttery. This time I had some of the specials they offered and even it wasn't bad at all, I expected more from them. The dish I had this time was the confited duck in fig sauce. While the duck was truly savory and well cooked, the fig sauce was more like a mermelade. I can say the sauce was in the way of the extremely delicious duck. The fig sauce tasted more like any fig jam jar sold at any supermarket. Still they keep the quality of French cuisine. The only detail I can see at this place I didn't like this time is the service and reason for giving 4 stars. While service is ok, the servers get lost once they take your order and you have to call them in case you need anything, like another drink, there's a new guest, whatever, they are not really paying attention of the clients. Other than that I can recommend this place for a good French cuisine experience and probably will come back for...

Not at all authentic. The two us ordered an onion soup and we’re going to share un vol au vent. Onion soup was just ok and didn’t have the croutons. Pas possible!!!Vol au vent was absolutely horrible. I returned it and asked for another one and was told they would all be the same. Vol au vents are supposed to be very flaky and puffy when they come out of the oven. This one was still flat and looked as if it has never been baked. So hard that it flew off the plate onto my dress when I was finally able to cut a piece. I had steak and it was not at the right temperature. I asked for rare and got medium/well. My friend ordered le poisson du jour (fish of the day) and got chicken. At that point we just wanted to get it over with and leave so she didn’t return it. We had already ordered une crème brûlée which was a really weird texture. We each took a bite and that’s it. If you are French, ne dépensez pas pour ça. C’est absolument horrible. Vous serez très déçu. NOT the place to go to if you want...

Jorge...

The fillet mignon dish was tasty, not the meat so much as the sauce and veggies. Those were fantastic! The escargot wasn't bad but not my favorite. If you prefer buttery, garlic escargot, you will be disappointed, as these are herbal. They do, however, offer different quantities than the 6 shown in the menu. The chicken and mushroom appetizer was okay, but nothing I'd order again. There was fresh bread and butter that I really enjoyed. The red wine list was a bit disappointing. I was looking for a Pinot noir and the cheapest option was 1000 pesos. Considering there were other red and white options for 200-300, I was very disappointed. The live piano music was in good taste and wasn't too loud to enjoy conversation. I'd go back, but I'll try another French restaurant first.

Great French restaurant in Guadalajara. For context, my wife is a chef and I lived in France. It's rare for us to try a dish in a restaurant and think that we would not improve it in any way, but both our dishes were exactly that: perfect. Good selection of fancy cocktails and robust wine menu. The atmosphere reminds me of a restaurant my father would go to, but then again he has good taste. The question is, can they stay relevant as their aging clientele begins to no longer go out for dinner. I would modernize a little with an interior facelift and maybe have nights geared for younger customers where the piano player doesn't play old American favorites, but plays modern jazz fusion or the like. Overally great place and we will come back.
