The Place is beautiful and it has amazing gardens and spectacular views of Lake Chapala. It is originally decorated with Mexican prehispanic cultures and motives. The restaurant is next to an hotel and a spa also beautiful decorated. The weather is year round gorgeous. Unfortunately, and despite so many recommendations I got from relatives and friends about this restaurant. I had the bad luck to encounter a bad and slow service that didn't correspond to the already high prices. The food was not good and I didn't get what I order despite asking for it 3 times. The attitude of the people who serve wasn't as friendly as it normally is in all the Ajijic and Chapala region. I don't know if it was just a matter of bad luck and wrong timing, but I am not sure if I will give this place another chance with so many good...

The food was served fast, well-presented, and was very good. Prices are US prices in the mid range ($25 per plate). The service and views were the best part of the meal.

Soo, I give it five stars as a restaurant, but we will not be going back. The area is within a gated area and part of a hotel spa. It has a mesoamerican style to it, mixing Aztec, Olmec, Mayan, and Toltec highlights (pyramids, snakes, heads, etc).

You used to be able to walk around and take photos. Now you can't. A guy in a golf cart will speed towards you as you are getting your vehicle to remind you of it and wait til you get in your car, like you were someone who needed to get escorted out of the premises. My extended family used to come here every month to an afternoon and treat themselves before going back to GDL....

Conclusión: es un lugar suigeneris, con bonita vista, pero sin corazón. La comida y el servicio no es malo, pero tampoco podría decirse que es su fuerte. En nuestro caso, consumimos unas brochetas de filete (dónde el filete estaba durito y extrañe el plátano macho, en cambio usan cebolla como si no hubiera mañana), también ordenamos unos camarones al coco en salsa de mango (los camarones duritos, señal de sobrecocido), una ensalada Waldorf de manzana en una clase de aderezo cremoso de trufa blaca ( muy rica) y una clásica pasta alfredo (que no tenía nada de especial, no se pecibía realmente el parmesano integrado a la pasta). Realmente no es por la comida por lo que uno va a este lugar, pero tampoco es malo y encuanto a precio fueron aprox $1,600 acompañando nuestros platos con cuatro cervezas. Lo realmente BUENO es la hermosa vista desde la palapa del restaurant hacia el lago, ¡ una verdadera delicia! a lo que no hay acceso en nuestra caótica ciudad ...si te toca la suerte de obtner la mesa adecuada, ciertamente. Lo que si de plano no me gustó es que había escasa agua en los baños, casi no salía agua en los grifos, había una especie de pileta tipo migitorio ahogada en orines estancados ... ehmm, pues juzgue usted mismo en las fotografías. Eso si me parece una importante área de oportunidad, que se debería atender urgentemente. Algo que también lamenté mucho, son las restricciones para recorrer los jardines/pasillos del complejo, no se nos permitió conocer nada ... casi casi te escoltan de la entrada a pie del restaurant y luego al dejar la mesa, piden tu vehículo y vas pa' fuera carnal. Me parece una restricción un tanto absurda, pues el lugar es bonito con una ambientación curiosa que me gustaría haber podido apreciar el ambiente en una caminata, pero bueno está clarísimo que no les hace falta promocionarse, bien por ellos. Si no fuese por la vista, al menos yo no regresaría tan sólo por la experiencia del restaurant (son 2-3 h de camino desde GDL ida y vuelta), eso explica que...
