Leaving the Mérida English Library one afternoon, I did a quick search of nearby restaurants, and Aromía was one of the results. Unlike another spot that advertised their hours but was closed, this place was open.
The interior is small but lovely with floral decor, antique chandeliers, and a mix of seating. My tush is always delighted when cushioned seating is available.
Upon entering, I was greeted warmly and offered a glass of water and a "snack" of totopos (tortilla chips) and salsa.
In this day of QR menus, it was nice to be handed an actual menu. The menu is nicely done and we'll organized. There were a number of enticing options, but I decided on the salmon crackets and the Edam pasta with grilled chicken added. My drink of choice was a Lavender lemonade.
The salmon crackets were beautifully plated, but I didn't love the combination. The portion size is perfect for an appetizer (3 pieces).
The edam pasta was delicious! The grilled chicken was seasoned very well. I am not normally a fan of edam cheese (aka queso de bola), but this combo was a winner. It makes me want to try soke of their other dishes.

In addition to the great service and delicious food, I loved the music they were playing. It was a great relaxing vibe and not too loud.
I can see this becoming a regular spot for me - if the food, service, and atmosphere...
Read moreBased on word of mouth we had lunch today at AROMIA, and we were pleased. The room(s) still need to be warmed up with artwork or something, but the tables and chairs are lovely and quality, good silverware, large( thank you) paper napkins, warm chips and salsa..these 2 families are hitting many right notes. The menu has some predictable items and many clever and clean interpretations. Grilled cheese sandwich on great bread, smoked salmon on lovely crackers, very pretty Avocado toast. A dessert with 2 ice creams, fresh berries and a cinnamony crumble...
Read moreI went for lunch yesterday to Aromia as I had read another review, that said it was very good. I was not disappointed. I had an interesting pasta dish with chicken that was very creative(very tropical) and very tasty. Every single thing we ordered was very good(Lemon, strawberry tea, a cappuccino after lunch and a beautiful and creative ice cream, dessert). The presentation was gorgeous. The service was excellent, and the staff was very kind. The restaurant has a great location for those in Calle 72 x 45 y 47. I will definitely eat...
