Beautiful park just blocks from centro. If you're staying on the north side, you can walk past this park every time you're heading to the city center. The park is shaded by beautiful trees, and has 4 restaurants with outdoor seating to relax in the shade. Tucked in the corner is Ki'Xocolatl - authentic Yucatan chocolate that is a must visit, and the perfect place to get some gifts for friends and family when you get back home. Also Grab a few photos at the Sillas gigantes (giant kissing chairs) or wait to get those down in the centro by the Merida sign. One of the favorite things we did was the free walking tour with Gabriel that starts here. This is a great way to see the highlights of the city, the history and a few of Gabriel's favorite places all in 2 hours. Please take my word for it - do this on your first day and you'll feel like you got the insider tour - https://www.freewalkingtourmerida.mx/. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, Yucatecan Serenade, an open-air dance with live music, has been held weekly on Thursday night at 9:00 pm since 1965 right here (now you know what the stadium bench seating is for). Please take my word for it... this is the place to be on Thursday. Locals and travelers alike attend this event and it is always amazing and it is always busy. Get there at 8:00 pm (or earlier) to get a seat at this free event, because it is the place to be! The regional music was played by a full band, and some of the songs were accompanied by traditional dancers. You don't want to miss this on your visit!

Parque de Santa Lucia is a delightful culinary spot, offering an impressive mix of international and local flavors. The setting is picturesque, perfect for a leisurely meal or a quick bite. Each stall and eatery presents its unique charm, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're craving something exotic or a taste of local cuisine, this place has it all. The balance of quality, variety, and ambiance makes it a must-visit for food lovers. Highly recommended for an authentic, enjoyable dining experience!

Another nice park in Merida. This one has a stage and seating so presumably hosts public music and drama. Haven’t seen any to comment but I like the concept. The square is surrounded by a host of quite and tasty restaurants. Some are very expensive, be sure to check the reviews. I can recommend Bryan’s burgers and would go back. Two of us ate there for less than the advertised price of some of the mains at the other restaurants, the burgers were great and the service spot on.

This park is full of joy. I went there for the Thursday local dance show which starts at 9 p.m.. The people there are in a really good mood, they are chilling, talking, laughing and just enjoying their time there. Come around 8 to 8.30, find a nice spot to sit. Bring snacks or buy some of the many locals selling snacks, water, coke or buy some food from the food stalls or many restaurants.

A small park surrounded by colonial houses and a small colonial church. There are a number of swanky restaurants and pubs in the arcaded building that frames its north west corner. Several trees fill the square providing welcome shade. This is also where the big facing chairs of Merida got their start. On the weekend there is live music and dancing in the square. A fun place.

The main park in Mérida’s centro historico filled with great restaurants serving up local fare, steaks and seafood, pizza, and even a burger joint - all are recommended. Can often find performances and music, especially at night in peak season. This park, as well as others, is what makes Mérida one of the most beautiful cities in México.
