Chili's — Restaurant in Mérida

Disclaimer: I understand this is bar food & expectations should not be through the roof. This review is merely opinion based & I am no expert. I just love to eat.

That being said..

Used to love Chili's so I decided to have a throw back moment.

After trying it, it was decided some throwbacks may not be what they once were & should stay... Thrown back... Like.. Way way back & left in the past.

Pro's: Surrounding environment is lively (because it's in the mall) so it seems like an ok place to hang out, have an overpriced beer & watch a game with a friend/s. Our waiter was fantastic. I'm sure others experience will vary by the person.

C.O.N.S........ Extremely overpriced for well... Everything. Quality of food (taste, preparation, etc) not good at all. Burgers are about the only thing half way decent. Chicken tenders looked and tasted like they had been fried 3X's over... From 3 weeks ago and might go through someone's window if you threw it.

In conclusion.. Prob good spot for the kiddos to come hang out with their friends & watch the soccer game after patrolling the mall & buying things they don't need. I however...Will not be...

No lo recomiendo, super mala experiencia que tuvimos como familia, mi esposo pidió un club Sándwich y antes de ordenar le preguntó al mesero que si era el típico club sándwich que venden en todas partes y le dijo que si, al momento que traen el platillo, no era el típico club sándwich que venden en todas partes, era una hamburguesa de pollo, mi esposo hablo con el mesero y le dijo... te pregunte antes de ordenar que si era el típico club sándwich y me dijiste que si, el primer error fue del mesero, ya que se le pregunto que si era el típico club sándwich debio decirle que no era el comun o describirle como era, en realidad no era lo que queria mi esposo y regreso el platillo, se quedo sin cenar, todo esto no fue el problema ......si no hasta que nos tragieron la cuenta, venia el club sándwich incluido, le comentamos al mesero y nos dijo que su gerente le dijo que lo teníamos que pagar porque lo habíamos ordenado, mandamos llamar al gerente y fue de lo peor, nunca había conocido a un gerente de un restaurante tan grosero y que se ponga al tu por tu con un cliente, diciéndonos que nosotros lo pedimos y que lo teníamos que pagar, que ellos eran una empresa y que no iban a perder, ojalá los empresarios o dueños de ese chilis pudieran ver algún video para que vean lo que paso y tengan la oportunidad de cambiar al gerente, porque la verdad no es justo que por una persona así pierdan clientes, al menos en mi caso no pienso volver y valla que somos clientes frecuentes, al igual que un grupo de amigas, me han comentado que jamás volverían a ese chilis por la mala atención que han recibido. No somos el tipo de familia que queremos evitar pagar una cuenta o hacer ese tipo de cosas, solo no se nos hizo justo que nos quisieran cobrar algo que no consumimos y nisiquiera tocamos y todo esto por una mala comunicación, no solo se pidió el platillo y dijimos no no lo quiero, antes de ordenar se preguntó sobre el platillo y lo peor es que te traten de esa manera y más cuando vas con tu familia, mi hija estaba bien asustada por...

I needed a place to eat that was close to my hotel this evening because we had a storm bearing down on us and I didn't pack an umbrella. This Chili's is right across the street so it fit the bill. I walked in and was greeted by Alejandro, who seated me in his section, and then despite my broken Spanish (estoy aprediendo!) took excellent care of me during my entire visit. As I was paying my bill he told me that while I was trying to use my Spanish, he was trying to learn English from me, so we were meeting on common ground of a sort.
