If you wanna feel the authentic vibes of a Mexican cantina, then La Ermita Cantina is for you. Really old building completely refurbished but keeping the concept of a vintage house if you will, creates a really nice atmosphere making you feel like if you were drinking in one of these places from back in the days. It might get a little crowded during the weekends so be patient, also the noice might be an issue for some since sometimes gets really crowded. In my case I was on my own and it was getting so packed that I had to share my table with some folks I didn’t know, it’s not a complain I think this is actually cool they do this, you get to meet other peeps. The beer price is so good, one of the cheapest ones in downtown Merida, $25 MXN for a Victoria which is my favorite and the more commercialized beers $20 MXN. Food is ok, keeping in mind this is a cantina and not a restaurant, so the things tore gonna get are more like a snack, a delicious “botana”. I 100% recommend this place, keep up the great...

Food was good. An interesting array of dishes. In particular the birra quesadilla was great and the guacamole was excellent. The mescal is served with local citrus and the cocktails are great.
On top of ALL of this, I asked if I purchase a bottle of the house mescal to take home. The owner said it was made by a local small batch distiller and scrambled to text him. We paid, left, and 30 minutes later the mescal was hand-delivered to our hotel by the guy that makes the mescal....
Read moreLa Ermita Cantina is a hidden gem in Mérida that combines great value with a welcoming, laid-back vibe. One of the best things about this place is the complimentary botanas (snacks) they serve with every drink order—something you don’t see often anymore. The snacks are tasty and generous, making each visit feel like more than just grabbing a drink. And you really can’t beat their everyday 20 peso beer special. It’s one of the most affordable deals in town, and perfect for relaxing with friends or just unwinding solo. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, with a mix of locals and visitors, and the staff is always quick and attentive. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick cerveza or planning to spend a couple of hours snacking and chatting, La Ermita delivers. It’s become one of my go-to spots in Mérida for a reason—great prices, cold drinks, and the kind of service that makes you...
