La Pigua was our favorite high-end restaurant in Merida! Great atmosphere, very nice waiter and food, absolutely delicious!!! We ordered coconut shrimp, jumbo size and very tasty! Then we ordered a 650-gram lobster, this was a monster lobster cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth juicy lobster, probably one of the best lobsters I have had and highly recommend!! We followed this with their in-house dessert, coconut cake, this was very good also, if you like Tres Leches, you will love this dessert! All in all, one of the best restaurants in the Yucatan!

Service was terrible! Super super slow! Waited almost an hour to get a table and then like 15 minutes to get a waiter to take our order. Staff was friendly but the problems of not having enough staff and not being organized were terrible. Menu was varied, prices were ok, maybe some items of the menu were a bit overpriced. The coconut shrimp were tasty, so were those with mango salsa. The rice with shrimp seemed very plain but was very tasty too. Overall, a good choice for seafood in Merida but avoid conference seasons and crowded lunch hours.

The waiters were charming and took good care of us, we couldn’t resiste to eat the oysters and decided to take one octopus to share, they brought two plates of half the order which was very convenient to have rather than one plate at the center, i grew very picky on the margaritas this one was made with sugar instead of Cointreau, still very good, pricy but worth it, the only thing was that the table next to us was very loud on her personal conversation ( i ll spare the detail of her displaying her surgery )

My husband and I didn't like this place. The food is very expensive and not really good. My plate was burning but my food was not hot, I took a pulpo al ajo, it was not well cooked, I was expecting a crispy garlic but it was just not tasty and all soft mixed in too much oil. The overall was accompagnated by a small slice of banana floting in oil, same for the rice (plenty of oil) nothing was refined. There was also a bit of veggies, nothing exceptionnal. My husband took a fish a la plancha and got the exact same rice, one slice banana and veggies. Each plate cost approximatly 200 pesos (10€). We hate much better in other places in Merida for 130 pesos, even 90 ! They put everything in looks but not in the quality of the food. The waiters are always around you never letting you tranquille, passing in front of you doing nothing 15 times the time you eat your small plate. Well, we were very disappointed. Bad food in a sort of luxiourius place with badly...

Good food at high prices. The atmosphere is very odd for a Mexican seafood restaurant. Feel like you are in a hotel lobby.

Was surprised to see the bill but cant complain because it was good... but there is likely better places to go for atmosphere and price.

Octopus was spot on...and the service/wait staff were gentlemen. Very good service. Just a shame the prices were so high or I am sure it would be packed...and lined up out the door.

Puerto Vallarta has some great seafood places with comparable food. It would have been half the price but it was lined up out the door and...

We enjoyed dinner here yesterday. The meal was exceptional. The three of us shared a Sir Francis Drake seafood salad. Huge serving of prawns, squid, cctopus with tomaties and onions topped with a vinegrete dressing. Best we ever had. We each ordered an entre. All three were very tasty and well prepared and presented. All were exceptional value. The orange juice and deserts were way overpriced. The only downside was the acoustics were non existant. The crowd , probably from the congress building across the street, were into tequilas and louder after each shot. But we will...
