The experience at this restaurant left a lot to be desired, mainly because of the service. Unfortunately, there were several errors on our visit: the waiter was not familiar with the menu or the dishes, which led to confusion on several occasions. Two of the dishes we ordered had to be cancelled: one was not what was described and the other never arrived. While we understand that errors can happen, what concerned us most was the lack of resolution or follow-up.
At no point did a manager come over to check what was going on or try to resolve the situation, which made us feel a bit abandoned as customers. Ultimately, we decided to pay only for what we consumed and leave.
That said, it is not our intention to attack the staff or the restaurant, as everyone deserves opportunities to improve. We want to invite the owners and team to reinforce staff training and have a more proactive system for handling incidents. The only thing that bothered me was the waitress gave me a hard time about deciding not to have a second glass of wine after I saw the hour (before anything was opened or poured). She informed me that they close at 9:30 (not 10 as advertised), so that meant after I saw the time was 9:20 I would only have 10 minutes to drink my glass. When I declined the pour she said something about not being able to change the order charge in the system until I pretty...
Read moreI visited Café Toscano on a friend's recommendation, as it's quite challenging to find good coffee around here. I asked the waitress if they had a flat white, even though it wasn't on the menu. She assured me they could make it easily. Unfortunately, the flat white I received was awful. However, I tried the latte and americano, and they were actually good. The service was good, and the chilaquiles were nice too. It was a shame I couldn't try their sweet bread as it is quite popular. Price-wise, it's overpriced. Overall, it was an OK experience with decent coffee and food, but...
