El Farolito Altata — Restaurant in Mexico City

This place is right near my apartment and I have eaten there 3 times in the last week. There's a large variety of menu choices and I've tried a few dishes, all of which I've enjoyed. I particularly like the gringas. The staff are busy, but they do a great job at serving you promptly and ensuring everything is good with your meal. The food arrives very quickly too. I came here thinking it would be more authentic than Califa and just as good quality what a joke! The food was horrible. I ordered a Farolazo, without beans cheese, it came as an empty tortilla basically without anything inside. Their salsas are horrible and their food has absolutely no flavor. This place was right around the corner from where I was staying and it smelled delightful as I was walking by so I decided to pop in a couple of times through my vacation.

I ordered several different things through my few times there tacos Pastor, maciza, alambres con arrachera... all excellent! I absolutely loved the warm pico and tostadas they brought out complimentary.

Service was fairly quick, very friendly...
