I had high hopes for this place but left quite disappointed.

I showed up on a Thursday evening with two other people. We managed to get a table quick but were left there forgotten by staff for a good 15 minutes. Nobody came to check on us, ask if we were ready, not even offered a drink?!

Being left there unattended by staff gave me time to scan the place and I couldn’t help but notice we were the only non tourists there. Everyone else seemed to be foreigners and seemed to be getting excellent customer service. The table across from us had a waiter whom offered them two free shots and two free small tacos. The table next to us, also foreigners, were given cloth napkins when they just ordered two tacos. Mind you, when we got our food we had to ask for utensils and napkins…. We were given paper napkins 😒.

When we brought up this issue to staff we were told it could’ve been that they were busy.

I have visited a lot of restaurants here in La Condesa. I have experienced busy hours but have never felt this ignored by staff.

As a Mexican national I know for a fact Mexicans will discriminate against their own and bend over backwards over a foreigner, which is very shameful and sad. I cannot say for sure this was their intent here but it sure did feel like it.

Unfortunately after experiencing this we couldn’t even enjoy our food and so this overall experience along with the food gets a bad review. Hopefully this issue will be address as I’d hate for someone else to experience what we did.

I will definitely not be...

The only terrible dining experience I had while visiting Mexico City. The service started off OK when our server only had 1 table to look after. Once other tables started to fill, my self and my wife were forgotten. My meal was delelived and after waiting 10 minutes for my wife's meal to arive I asked for my meal to be taken away to keep it warm (assuming they would do the right thing and are fire the meal). Another 5 minutes past and both dishes where delivered, with mine being cold and no offer to even try to make things better. I don't know about you, but a table for 2 and the entree’s are delivered 15 minutes apart should not be acceptable. I know things happen in the kitchen, but make it right and redo the first meal. Then after the meal it took another 25 minutes to be asked if we wanted desert, at this time I just wanted to leave and asked for the bill, this took another 25 minutes to be delivered. The starters and drinks we had where good, but the main course was terribly delivered and would not recommend this place. Many other great places in the neighbourhood that go...

A Hongkonger solo traveler in Mexican city. Bookmarked this little restaurant under my want-to-try restaurants list, so walked there from my Airbnb in this pleasant area, Condesa. I was there by myself, sitting at the outdoor little table, soaking in the cosy ambience. Wanting to try many of the dishes, but needed to be realistic. Mexico wine is good, this one is crispy, aromatic and balanced. The tortilla was the hard type, great sauces to go with and matched well with the wine. A bit regreted for getting the melted cheese, thought will be a smaller portion and it hardened up quite quick. The black taco had a burnt, smoked, very unique taste, crispy and went well with the acidic dressing and raw shrimp. Enjoyed this dish the most. This was my first meal in CDMX, wanted to give Mezcal a try! So ordered this hibiscus Mezcal cocktail! There was a little bitter flavor which I liked, not too sweet and refreshing. The service was great too, giving recommendations and helping...

There will always be a space in my heart for Antolina. When I sit here my mind becomes shrouded in memories. All of them superb in every way. The salsas are intriguingly delicious, the mezcales are as good as you'd expect, the depth of research invested in every single dish is commendable, the outrageously fresh quality of the ingredients, the location convenient and the simple approach towards a proper service cannot go unnoticed. Also, it's Oaxacan cuisine, so anyone else in the area is already at a disadvantage. I've brought an array of blue ribbon skeptics here and without any exceptions all found themselves in utter states of discombobulation after tasting just a few items. I will continue to knock myself out here until I can no longer do so. My favorite special as of now is the ant eggs with bone marrow (with serrano and acuyo salsa in a taco in my mouth.)Yum.

Forget all the hyped up places you read about online…make your way here ASAP!!! The food, the service, the atmosphere, were all outstanding. This place exceeded all expectations. They do use insects in quite a few of their dishes but be adventurous and try them out!!The Aguachile Verde was the best thing we had this trip and one of the best I have ever had period. Perfect balance of heat and acidity. The Fideo Seco was good, more of a filler dish, didn’t have too much complexity to it but sometimes simple is better! The Black Recado Pork Taco with beetles was unreal. The beetles get fried and they give the taco an added peanut-esque flavor to the dish. I was surprised in the best way possible. Cheesecake was tasty and light and the drinks were great as well. Happy to dine at this joint on our last night in CDMX!
