CDMX Eats 2024 #67, Korean #1, Fried Chicken #1: My partner was craving fried chicken, so we decided on 치맥 here (over Hot Mama's Kitchen in Condesa) based on the positive reviews.
We ordered the pollo frito combinado (14pc) original+salsa (dulce diabla) $309 and 3 beers ($32-42). The waiter was nice enough to let us try two sauces: dulce diabla and queso con crema (his favorite). We ended up choosing the dulce diabla as it was most similar to the sauce you'd get at a typical 치맥 place in LA.
The fried chicken did not disappoint. It was larger/more food than I expected, it was fresh and piping hot, and it was well-cooked and flavorful. I was conflicted whether to order the whole fried chicken or 20pc wings, but I think the whole chicken is the way to go. Next time, I'd like to try their ajo con soya and mango habanero sauces. I'm also curious about their Thai (Tailandesa) sauce.
Other things to know: there is an 아저씨 there though he doesn't take orders and mostly just talks to his employees lol, there's a bunch of hangul neon lights, and they play K-pop (when the wifi cooperates). They provide plastic gloves to eat the chicken, which is very nice. Jinro Original is $130 unlike the new Korean places in Condesa charging a fortune.

Read moreAbsolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned fried chicken and really good dipping sauces. They even made a custom honey garlic sauce for us. We got the special platter that had a mix of chicken strips, wings, and half a chicken with fries and elote. This was more than enough food for three people. Not only was the food good but the customer service is AMAZING! They stayed open for us and didn't try to rush us out. They even waited for our Uber to arrive. I would definitely recommend this place if you're craving some well seasoned food in CDMX. We will surely...
Read moreI had the half order of boneless original and the chicken and batter were cooked perfectly. The texture of both was also so good, the batter was light and crispy. The chicken was flavorful and moist, and not at all greasy.
The only thing is that the batter was a bit sweet, but with the right sauce it will complement it well. I had the soy with garlic and the buffalo sauce. Combined they hit the right notes, but by themselves they were not to my taste (still good though!).
The service was friendly and efficient and sitting...
