This place does actually make pretty good tacos al pastor. It ain’t sliced ‘til it’s got some charred bits (that adds flavor!) — but the Campechanos—hard pass, they were pretty gross, unless you like paying 80 pesos for gummy, chewy, fatty bits mixed, so that when you bite into it you end up wishing you had gone to a vegan restaurant as you originally intended, but nooo you had to come here. 😒 The tortas are also a let down because if they were proud of their al pastor, they would not slap it between mediocre bread. The torta bread was a pillowy, industrial Bimbo-like-produced nightmare. They have such great al pastor, it’s a shame that they don’t pair it up with other equally-great food products. This place could truly be serving CDMX’s best torta al pastor if only they used good bread—something with a good crust, a torta loaf sliced in half, and extra points if they grill/toast it all. But it was just sorry looking, soft, white bread. Nothing special—it truly is an economical, profit driven choice I guess, but wow does no one have taste buds? Does everyone really just want to eat to feel full? My suggestion: Just stick with al pastor tacos or maybe try the volcán—note: each order comes with 2 volcanes (they are basically meat and cheese grilled over a tostada)!! Overall a good place to stop if you’re in the neighborhood and craving al pastor—but I would not go out of my way to try this place. Not a “must try” place, but it is a kitschy fun scene with it being operated next to/out of a mechanic garage. And scenes like these are just great with friends—but let’s not forget that it’s the good company of friends that can make even a 1-star meal one of the best. Overall, the best al pastor in CDMX today is still Rifados (small nondescript place serving deliciousness...

This is another unique street food place in Mexico City. I found this while watching YouTube for places to eat great street food.
For all intents and purposes, this is a place that specializes in Al Pastor tacos. Yes, they have other types of tacos and other things, besides tacos. But in the end, people come here for the Al Pastor tacos. And rightly so. They are great tacos. Their process is nicely honed. You can walk up and will be greeted by one of the servers who take your order. They quickly come back with your tacos and you can situate yourself at one of the tables on the property and enjoy your tacos while watching the circus of the 3 or 4 Al Pastor slabs of meat spinning and getting charred while the masters cut the meat and create the tacos very quickly & skillfully.
Others simply pull up in their cars and the servers will actually approach the cars, take their orders and bring them their food so that you can just enjoy your meal without ever getting out of your car.
The place is so busy that they have an employee with an orange flag directing traffic around the place and helping others find a parking space.
I didn't give this place an A+ because the tacos, while being very, very good were not amazing. Just really, good. And yes, I thought it was worth the Uber ride to get there and I will return.
A great spot to have some good tacos in a very typical Mexico City...
Read moreThese are, without a doubt, the best el pastor tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Even now, back in the U.S., I find myself thinking about this place. The pork is perfectly crispy on the outside, sliced into tender, thin pieces, and topped with juicy pineapple. And let’s not forget the light green salsa—it’s the finishing touch that makes every bite absolutely perfect. I was so hooked, I came here three days in a row! Even now, I haven’t been able to find anything that comes close to the flavor of these tacos back home. The glowing reviews speak for themselves.
The seating is casual, with high-top tables, and there’s a bathroom for convenience. The salsas are served at a shared station by the tables, allowing you to choose your perfect level of spice.
What makes this place truly unique is the transformation it undergoes. During the day, it’s a car shop, but by night, it turns into a taco haven. I can’t wait to come back here again—it’s truly...
