We wanted to try something Mexican on our first day, and made our way to Polanco. We came across this place, it had good reviews and the pictures look great! They didn’t do this place justice! It was a absolutely amazing. It so good we know we will return before we leave and if we ever come back! So they start you off with the traditional plate of nachos and salsas. The salsas were amazing, fresh and tasty. We had the fish ceviche, it was fresh, it has a nice sauce and plenty of cucumbers. Next we tried the Sinaloa squid (calamari), it was lightly battered and come with an amazing dipping sauce, paired perfectly. We also had to try the signature bone marrow and steak taco, and it was out of this world! The bone marrow is prepared table-side as they add it to the tacos at that point, making the presentation incredibly entertaining. Before I forgot their was a live Mexican folk band, and they were excellent. They even serenaded us by the table which is pretty awesome! I’ve added photos and if I can I’ll add videos too. Lastly for dessert, the obvious choice was the Churros, which came with a caramel dipping sauce and s’mores ice cream. Our server was legendary, and he also picked out an amazing mezcal for us to try; it was smooth, flavorful and was glorious! I can’t recommend this place any higher, do yourselves a favor and...
Read moreBe aware of those local guide review with no comments! definitely fake reviews! This is a legit experience: Came for dinner with my family and pretty much was scammed by our waiter. When ordering appetizers for the table, Yerez said the chicharróns are small and that I should order 2 and than mumbled something under his breath. Mind you the music was a bit high but he purposely spoke in a low tone. When we received our appetizers, we noticed that it had octopus and most of the group doesn’t like/care for seafood. The menus didn’t mention it and we were bit confused. Also, they got 2 orders wrong which at the point with the lackluster service, and everyone just hangry just removed what they asked without. The checks came and we were charged for 2 octopus entrees!!! Apparently that is what “I agreed to when he mumbled under his breath. Frustrated and not in the mood to get in a heated argument, I paid and honestly shouldn’t have left a 10% tip but they were nice with helping my elderly mom. In addition, a couple got food poisoning from the al pastor. The bright red should have been a giveaway. I would NOT recommend this place at all. It has been the worst experience we...
Read moreOn a Monday night there were 4 tables filled and no band. We were oddly seated away from the other diners in a darker area. We wanted to try the Scorpion tasting with the mezcal flight. This was not on the menus and had to ask for it. Luckily my daughter speaks some Spanish because both waiter did not. They brought it out but there was very little instruction excepting dipping the crispy scorpion in the mezcal before drinking. Not the experience we thought. Now for the food. They brought over an iPad because our phones did not translate the QR code. They bring to the table sweet potato chips and salsas. Honestly it was so dark I did not know there were tortilla chips under. The salsas were good. We had ceviche which is large but mainly cucumber. The artichoke was very good. We oddly were given a cast iron pan of melted cheese no seasoning which was an order lost in translation. Tacos we had were the revolution which was interesting and good and the Al pastor which was a big miss. This was not the experience we saw in reviews. Maybe due to a Monday night. We were looking for a festive and fun atmosphere with good food did not experience that at all....
