I spent a few weeks here, but at the end I had to look for other better options.||||THE GOOD: Beautiful building outside and inside, very friendly staff, and a safe location make this a good option for long-term stay in Polanco. ||Most of the guests are quiet folks from Latin American countries, who keep to themselves and spend a few weeks working in Mexico City. ||Tons of great restaurants within a couple of blocks, with the "Polanquito" area just 10 min walk ||Within a couple of blocks you will also find a supermarket, several convenience stores, liquor stores, and other useful businesses. It will feel like you live in the city!||||THE BAD: The deal killer for me was the laundry room, located in the basement/parking lot, which guests have access in the evenings only (as well as all day Sunday). The 5 washing machines are not sufficient for the number of guests, and they break down frequently, with no service or immediate replacement. It can take HOURS to wait for the three working machines that everybody is trying to use at the same time. I ended up doing my laundry somewhere else, which forced me to look for other options.||Maintenance can be a problem: A guests in the building complained that they were without AC or heat for a weeks, and they wouldn't fix it. ||Breakfast is very frugal, and includes mexican bread and unrefrigerated WARM yogurt poured into individual cups. Don't expect anything fancy.||||NOISE: Not a significant problem, unless you have sensitive ears. Even though the streets around the building are rather quiet compared to others in Polanco, there are restaurants directly across the street, and traffic can be quite hectic at times; cops love to use their sirens at all hours of day and night. If street noise is a problem for you, they have inside rooms with a view of the small courtyard. ||GYM: The gym is small, a couple of machines, and never saw anybody using it.||PARKING: Convenient basement parking, looks like most guests don't have vehicles because it looks empty. Streets in Polanco are known to flood, however, this area is apparently not affected, or protected by good water pumps perhaps? Double check if you are bringing a vehicle.||QUAKE PROBLEMS? Apparently no damages during the 2017 quake, that's a great thing!||MAID SERVICE: Some guests loved their daily cleaning service. It is a great perk, although the cleaning crews appear to work very long hours and complain of too much work. This reflected in less-than-stellar cleaning, where the staff would cut corners to save time. The common areas are extremely clean and well maintained.||ACCESS: There are several steps to the front door, keep in mind if you have...

I emailed the property two months before our trip to make sure that they could provide us with 2 cribs/or pack and play, and they confirmed they had 2 available. However, when we arrived the cribs/pack & plays were not ready. When I asked the doorman/manager of the property, he was extremely rude and told me that he couldn't help me. It was late at night and I had no place for my infant and my toddler to sleep. I basically begged him to look for something, and 10 min later he brought up 2 pack & plays for me to put together. I did, but to my surprise both of them were broken and one of them didn't have a mattress.||My toddler climbed out of the pack & plays 3 times during our stay, since one of the sides was completely bended. For my infant, I had to fold a comforter and put it in her pack & play so it could serve as a mattress. I contacted the property through Booking that night to tell them about the issues, and they did absolutely nothing. I just can't imagine a more stressful situation for a mother of 3 who just got the apartment and has to put her kids to bed.||- We rented 2 apartments so my mom could help us with the kids. The apartments were located in 2 separate floors, despite the fact that we requested them to be next to each other. This defeated the whole purpose of having my mom helps us since the apartments were far from each other.||- The apartments were not clean, the curtains were not black out curtains, and the beds/pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The toilet seats were incredibly worn out to the point that it was disgusting to seat on them.||- The other major inconvenience was that the room keys did not work properly, so we had to have the doorman open the room for us on a regular basis, and there was one night when he wasn't happy about it and the situation got very...
Read moreI stayed at Grand Polanco Residencial when I was in Mexico City recently. The hotel is located is very well located on Av. Issac Newton in Polanco. It's a long stay hotel/ apartment set-up and the rooms are nice. You have a living room cum bedroom set-up with a small kitchenette. You have housekeeping available for 6 days (Monday thru Saturday) and I found the staff to be efficient and friendly. One must keep in mind that the apartment / hotel is located on the main street and you can hear traffic noise. The staff does not speak much English.||What I missed at the apartment/ hotel is not having a restaurant. Although they do serve limited menu breakfast in their lobby, the options are very limited and one wants to have a variety especially that you are going to there for a few weeks. ||The good thing is that since the hotel is located in Polanco, there are reasonably good options for eating around within 1 km radius.||Overall, a good place to stay if you want to be located in a good...
