Piel Morena, Cafetería de Barrio — Restaurant in Mexico City

Can’t recommend in good conscience. The chilaquiles were really good, the coffee is expensive and mediocre. The espresso is basically a strong americano. You’ll pay artisanal prices for normal at best quality.

But the real reason for my disappointment was the Huevos divorciados Piel Morena. For a dish with the restaurant’s name on it, it was shockingly bad. I only ate about 1/3 of it before I stopped punishing myself. Maybe the worst beef I’ve ever had. Uncooked egg whites. Without the Serrano ham (which was good/doesn’t normally come with it—i ordered it on the side), I don’t think I would have eaten any of it at all.

Tomorrow I find a new place...

If you're looking for a quality cup of coffee (as I was), look somewhere else. The staff don't know the difference between a latte and a capuccino. That said, the service was good and I saw many people enjoying their meal, so the food appears to be good, and they offer executive menus at affordable prices. Sidewalk seating...

Conozco este lugar desde hace más de 13 años y desde entonces fue uno de mis lugares favoritos para desayunar, comer o escuchar música en vivo mientra tomaba café, hoy estoy un poco sacada de onda ya que noté que el personal es poco y la atención a los comensales fue muy lenta, los alimentos no tienen la calidad de siempre, el sabor cambió ( no con eso estoy diciendo que sea malo, sólo diferente pero la diferencia es notable) y pues... Días malos todos los tenemos entonces espero que solo se haya tratado de algo similar para el restaurante, ya que es uno de los negocios locales de mucho tiempo en la colonia entonces...
