I’ve been to Montejo multiple times and it’s a great little cantina. However, as my husband and I were crossing the street in front of the restaurant last night we were hit by one of their valet drivers who was drunk out of his mind. After hitting us with a car on the crosswalk (he had a red light, we had a walk sign), he rolled down the window and said watch where you’re going, then ran a red light to make a left turn from the far right lane, cutting off cars who had the right of way and almost wrecking the car.
When we confronted him after he handed off the car to the customer, he didn’t seem to remember what had happened and was slurring his speech. We complained to the manager or owner not sure which, who didn’t seem to concerned that his valet driver was drunk driving the customer’s cars.

The food was ok for us. We went with a big party. The waiter didn’t want to give us menu. He tried to sell any food he wanted. However, some of us don’t speak Spanish. After several times requests, the waiter brought us 1 English menu. The most annoying event was the waiter didn’t give us change. On the receipt or menu was not said that service fee added to bill so tip should be optional and based on the service. The waiter automatically took $500 pesos as tip without our approval. El jugo de carne estaba horrible, tenía el sabor de un gravy, los medallones que suelen ser muy buenos, esta vez les faltaba mucho sabor. El ron quemado con limón que pedimos, le colocaron limón añejo y esto arruinó por completo su sabor.
En esta ocasión la cocina nos decepcionó.
Lugar bastante concurrido, en especial en días de partidos, sin embargo cuenta con el área de cantina y de restaurante. Yo recomiendo la cantina, tiene un ambiente menos tranquilo que se disfruta bastante.
Cuentan con botana, la cual es gratis en la compra de 4 cervezas o 3 copas. No importa el día que vayas, la botana es simplemente deliciosa. Considero que su cochinita no es la mejor puesto que la percibo un tanto insípida, sim embargo prueben un taco para emitir su juicio; aunque si la cochinita o el menú del día no les apetece, el jugo de carne y los medallones de res en salsa de pimienta son una delicia que no debes perderte.
Los meseros son muy atentos y si no pides alimentos o ya terminaste con estos, te llevarán chicharrones y cacahuates para que puedas botanear.
De postre recomiendo pedir el ate con queso, cada vez que lo pido, siempre me sorprende la frescura de ambos ingredientes.
Las instalaciones, así como los sanitarios, siempre limpias y en buenas condiciones.
Cuentan con Valet Parking o bien, puedes buscar estacionamiento y pagar el parquímetro (desde la app MueveCiudad o en las estaciones de pago).
