Going to Mexico City is a street food lovers delight, and believe me we tried A LOT of street and restaurant tacos! But, to our taste, Tacos Tony was our hands down favorite! Everything was cooked "just right", and I believe that's mainly because they cook the whole time, and nearly day and night, so the chances of them not having meat ready to pile into your taco is near zero!
Everything is cooked right there in front of you, so you can see it's cooked at a high temperature, and for long enough so you don't get Montezuma's Revenge! From what we saw, the meat was fresh, the salsa (Verde) was great, and the Pico delicious. Add to that attentive (and trusting, we just kept eating different combinations, and we kept count!) and jovial service was very good (my Spanish is poor, but they didn't seem to mind). My preference is for wheat rather than corn tortillas (I know, I know, sacrilege!) but the combination of flavors made me forget the corn taste!
This is a very well know local vendor, and there was a constant stream of people lined up the whole time we were there. From what I understood this is also the "After Hours" eatery of choice as they stay open until the early hours of the morning (04:00 AM??). Oh, and the area they are located was (seemed) very safe, and the customers friendly and chatty. Some said that it was a bit expensive compared to other local spots, but honestly it felt like a good price to me for the quality you receive.
So, if you're looking for the Real Deal, Authentic flavor of CDMX, or have the munchies after an evening out, this is THE place to go, worth the Uber...

Tony's is where I created the game "Accident or Tacos?" where you see a car parked in the middle of the street sideways and you can't tell if they got in a wreck or if they're just waiting for their tacos.
We came here with Eat Mexico and I'm so glad we did. Get the suadero. It's cooked perfectly and it's rich and incredibly flavorful, which is a sharp contrast to the lightness of the al pastor you can get right up the street. My understanding is that this is a small chain, but this location is the best. I would...

The salsas are as spicy as they come. Service young and friendly and efficient. There’s nothing not to like about Tony. We ate at the little stand which is the original Tony. Go across the street if you want to sit down for table service or a few blocks down to the newest Tacos Tony, although I can’t vouch for them I imagine quality...
