My partner and I had a horrible experience with this restaurant involving SEVERE FOOD POISONING. We ordered the tori katsu curry and udon with an egg and alga. The egg in the udon came raw, which is usually fine as long as the soup is hot enough to cook the egg. This was not the case. In a very short while after eating, while waiting for our uber in front of the restaurant. I began to feel very uneasy in the stomach and bowels. The ride back to our apartment was immensely painful. My parter also began to experience these symptoms. We could not sleep that night because of frequent trips to the toilet. This continued throughout the following day and even as I write this more than 30 hours later. We called the restaurant to explain the situation and they were reluctant to take any accountability. Instead disrespecting us by saying that Europeans eat there all the time and this has never happened. I've worked in many restaurants and understand that mistakes can always occur. What we experienced was a mistake that made us very sick. It should be handled to assure it does not happen again. I find it immensely disappointing and dishonourable that the restaurant would not take our food poisoning seriously at all. Even at the merger symbolic expense of returning our money or even simply apologising, they have proved to be incapable of taking any responsibility. In short, I would not trust eating or supporting this...
Read moreThis is my first time eating sushi in Mexico City. I went here with my fiancé because we were walking from Chapultepec park and saw it was close and had the best reviews… looks like a authentic Japanese place and even the upstairs had little Tokyo charm (recalling from having been to Japan last year). Service was good/fast but our bad Spanish was hard to communicate as our server spoke zero English. We pointed and order and hoped for the best. My only major gripe with the place is the single piece of nigiri in an order… I have never seen that in any Japanese restaurant before - in the states, Europe or Japan. The food was good and pretty fast but it wasn’t great. Ramen was not creamy and was a little oily. And one minor thing was the waiters kept coming to our table bringing food we didn’t order or mistaking the table. It’s not a large place so I find it hard to do multiple times.
I give it a B- if you go in knowing the one piece nigiri rule you’ll probably...
Read moreI’m only writing my review based on the ramen and nothing else. I’ve been fortunate enough to try different types of ramen in L.A. and in Japan. I was very excited to try this ramen since I saw people posting on a couple of subreddit so I decided to give it a try. I had the Tokusei ramen. For starters, the smell was a little odd and the broth was very light in color and weight. The chashu seemed to be undercooked and more on the soft side. Noodles texture was good but what caught me off guard was the egg. It had weird gray lines all over. At the beginning I thought it was the way they serve the egg but my son had the same ramen and his was normal. I asked to change it so they did. When I try it, it was also undercooked and flavorless. Overall I felt like the ramen felt short. My wife had the udon and it was very good. Also service was friendly. Maybe I’ll come back to try their sashimi since I see people commenting good...
