I have never stayed at City Express brand however since they are now part of the Marriott brand, I thought to give it a try for its prime location. Overall this was not the type of hotel I would normally stay at nor would I ever stay here in the future or the brand (city express) again. The property needs to be trained on many aspects of the Marriott brand standard. This budget friendly property does boast an incredible location across from the famous Angel de independencia, walkable to many restaurants and the gay district bars and eateries, including a casino two blocks away which we found ourselves there to spend time away from the extremely small and crammed room. Customer service needs improvements, the only time you are somewhat greeted is by literally standing at the front desk. Front desk agents nor lobby staff or security acknowledges you entering or exiting the hotel nor while passing by guests, I would intentionally say good morning, afternoon, etc. was not a language barrier as I speak fluent Spanish. A little odd for a now Marriott portfolio property. Maybe I’m a spoiled Hilton diamond member and used to better service. Again that’s my fault for choosing location over hotel level. The biggest issue is how dated and uncomfortable the room was. We tried to stay positive for our 11 night stay. The room was very small and outdated and felt like I was on a cruise ship. The beds are very very uncomfortable and felt of a cheap dorm room literally could feel the springs, made for very uncomfortable and sleepless nights. Room smelled muggy and just “old” I had to buy a scent plug in at the store in hopes to improve my room for my extended stay. The restroom had good shower pressure and hot water which was important. AC worked but struggled. We literally slept, showered and left the room most of the day, luckily there’s so much to do nearby and in the incredible city. I just wish the room was more comfortable at least a better bed and somehow more inviting. I will say the housekeeping was done daily, though at random hours even as late as 5-6pm. The housekeepers I encountered were the only friendly staff so I made sure to leave a daily tip for their hard work. Bed linens were changed what appeared to be daily and the room was cleaned and tidy. The housekeeping did appear to clean with pride and worked to maintain this rundown hotel. Overall it just was not my kind of hotel property or comfort level. Perhaps for a short trip if you need this location and are okay sacrificing comfort/ modern ambiance and sleep quality. Go for it. I tried to be as far as possible but this was my truthful experience of this property, they need a major renovation and some Marriott customer service improvements.

Horrible experience. They messed up my reservation 2x in a row and I was locked out of my room multiple times thanks to this. Then the front desk guy told me I booked it wrong, even though he is the one who made the reservation. My hotel water was brown and I was brushing my teeth with it all weekend. I got extremely sick and had to go to the hospital when I returned to US. In general, the staff was unfriendly except for the people who took my bags to the rooms. They were always not paying attention, playing on their phones, and having conversations. Several times I stood at the front desk when there were people right there who were supposed to be helping. I’d describe this as a low class hotel that is only pricey or “nice” because of the location. Nothing else was worth the price.

Very dirty room. The floor of the room consists of a very old carpet that has stains and on top of that there was dirt from the previous guest on the floor. Also, the bed sheets had stains and there was hair and other dirt in the bed. I also assume that there are mites in the bed, as my skin was scratching every morning and I had little red dots on the legs and arms. After the first night, I asked them to clean it. But nothing had changed (the pictures are AFTER having asked them to clean)! After complaining again, they offered me to change to another room, but I had lost my patience after two bad nights and changed the hotel. One of my worst experiences, definitely not a 4 star hotel!!

I stayed at the City Express Plus because it's basically right across the street on Reforma as the U.S. Embassy! There are more established hotel names right there as well, and they charge an impressive amount to do that. I stayed for one weekday night, and I thought it was a very good deal, and location for pretty much anything in the Central area. I drove in so they valet'd my car when I arrived. They have a pretty strict 3pm check in, since the check out is 1pm. Which I also liked. I rented room 1110, which was a suite. It was a great simple suite w/a full kitchen! That I hadn't seen in the amenities section. What ever...the only thing you should be aware of is the bedroom's back wall is in front of the elevator shaft. During the day, there's more use than later in the evening. I slept fine, but I do that. If you're a light sleeper, you might inquire about a room not ending in 10. It is a quiet location. They have a full restaurant w.a daily buffet that looked good. Only saw, not partake. Clean, well taken care of, and no charge for the overnight car park. I tipped the guys of course, but that was it. I'd stay there again, and will. If I was profiling their market, I would say mid upper class X generation working in high tech, electronics, some a little older like me. An Ice machine was on 11, and unnoticeable is it's...

B-A-D!!! NEVER again will I stay or recommend this hotel to anyone! I’ve never felt so compelled to write a BAD review. We were a large group with kids who reserved months in advance. Called to arrange transportation to/from airport but never received confirmation. Called again 2 days prior to arrival to confirm transportation, price and time of arrival. They wouldn’t provide anything in writing to confirm transportation just want you to rely on hopes and dreams they would show. On day of arrival WAITED more than an hour to get picked up. Then driver tried to CHARGE MORE THAN QUOTED until I pushed back. When we arrived at hotel some in our group were told their reservations were CANCELLED and there were no rooms available. It was a busy weekend and other hotels had no availability. Front desk person did nothing to apologize or try to resolve issue. BASICALLY NO ACCOUNTABILITY JUST BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Some who had room cancelled finding out now that their cards were indeed CHARGED for hold prior to arrival. Rooms SMELLED musty, DIRTY carpets, POOR water pressure, half hanging curtains, and BAD electrical outlets. This place is a JOKE from the front desk to the rooms. The only positive they have going for them is location. Do yourself a favor and stay away! RUN...
