I recently had the pleasure of indulging in what I can confidently say is the finest burger in Sayulita. From the first bite, it was evident that this burger was prepared with a level of skill that's hard to come by. The patty was cooked to perfection, offering a juicy and flavorful explosion with every mouthwatering bite.

What truly elevated this dining experience was the incredible atmosphere that surrounded me. The restaurant's ambiance was a harmonious blend of relaxation and allure. As I enjoyed my meal, a gentle ocean breeze played a soothing melody, while the rhythmic symphony of waves crashing nearby created a sense of serenity that added to the culinary pleasure.

And oh, the view! Seated with a view of the Sayulita coastline, I couldn't help but be enchanted by the sheer beauty of it all. The stunning vista stretched out before me, a picturesque backdrop that transformed the meal into a truly enchanting moment.

When you're in Sayulita and the craving for an exceptional burger strikes, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Beyond the incredible flavors, it's a dining experience that combines impeccable cooking with an atmosphere and views that will leave an indelible mark on your memory. It's not just a meal; it's a journey for the senses...

The only redeeming quality about Maxa is the hotel and the setting that it's in. Of course almost anywhere that you go and Sayulita that's going to be on the beach is going to be gorgeous and have a beautiful view of the sunset and it'll be tranquil blah blah blah blah.

For all of you tick-tok twits and Instagram idiots, Go ahead go there grab an overpriced cocktail take your little picture, put your little post up you'll like it.

For any of you that are actually going there for some sort of culinary experience you're going to be greatly disappointed. Their pork chuleta was dry it had a mingling of flavors that made absolutely zero sense on any sort of flavor profile that makes sense. Boring, off-putting literally took two bites and then put it in a black box took it home fed it to the dog.

Their chicken and green mole, again another culinary abortion.

Expensive, arrogant and wholeheartedly pretentious. The chef needs to be strapped into a chair and force fed his own menu so he can atone for his sins.

The service was awful too, during the 2 hours we were there we were visited by the hostess a grand total of three times.

Overpriced, off-putting.

We might crash the pool...

I was very disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. The service was subpar, with dishes being served at different times, leaving some of us waiting while others had already finished eating. The server made unpleasant comments about the children in our group, who were simply behaving like normal kids—nothing out of the ordinary.

When it came time to pay, we used multiple cards since we were a larger group. The server insisted on knowing how much tip each of us was giving and then remarked that tipping is usually higher at this establishment, which felt quite unprofessional and uncomfortable.

As for the food, it was just okay—definitely not worth the price. I expected much better quality for what we paid.

Overall, I wouldn’t return, and neither would anyone else in our group. The server's rude behavior left a very...

My wife and I plus two friends had the pleasure of visiting Maxa during their soft opening. Two of us had their smashed style cheeseburger, nice double patty burgers that were delicious and very filling and served with french fries with truffle oil. My wife had the taco costeñito (grilled lobster with a cream sauce) and the taco cruji (soft shell crab) she said both were outstanding, I had a bite of the lobster, delicious!! And the view was as amazing as the food, we had a table overlooking the beach, and the Sayulita bay, with a great ocean breeze, Wow! We can’t wait to return and enjoy a sunset dinner, with that view I expect it to be nothing short of amazing.

This restaurant is a wonderful find in Sayulita. But it is under-promoted. They feature pizza for lunch, but the restaurant offers far more. The menu rivals a fine dining experience second to none, in an enchanting environment overlooking the ocean and the pool. I was drawn in by the bone marrow starter and the steak, cooked to perfection, was as good as I have had anywhere. The service was also gracious. It is a short walk from the center of town but we’ll worth the extra effort to get there.

We enjoyed both breakfast and a sunset dinner here. We have been coming to Sayulita from Calgary for years and love it all, but what a special day we had at Mazo in the hotel La Puesta! Fernanda was exceptional and stayed with us for much of the day. Kahula was also so great for our breakfast shift. Great food, great service and amazing atmosphere. Ps the waterslide is worth the ride!!!
