I recently visited this Italian restaurant and, while the food and ambiance were enjoyable, my experience was soured by a waitress named Valentina. As a Mexican American, I’m accustomed to the warm and friendly service that Mexican waitstaff are known for, and it’s something I deeply value as it reflects well on my country. Unfortunately, Valentina’s behavior was the complete opposite—when I was first seated at a table that wasn’t part of the regular seating area, I didn’t mind, but when a proper table became available, I politely asked to be moved. She refused, citing kitchen disruptions, and added that she had already gone out of her way to seat me. To make matters worse, as soon as I finished my meal, she rushed to clear my plate in a very rude and abrupt manner, making it clear she was trying to get me out quickly. We had to get the menu’s ourselves, and had to ask at the waiter to take our order. And when they finally came down they weren’t very friendly. Also they forgot my boyfriends drink, and brought us the wrong food when it finally came. The carbonara was not good. No flavor, undercooked spaghetti and four tiny pieces of bacon, only consisting of fat. And the bruschetta was the most dry bread with some tomatoes on top - no oil, garlic, salt or any type of flavor. All in all such a bad experience, unfortunately 😕 we were really...
Read moreWho would think you’d go to Mexico for wood fired pizza? But, that’s exactly what happened to me when I happened upon this place. I was not disappointed. I’m a Chicago pizza snob and the margarita Pizza here was on point. Plus the red wine by the glass paired it up very nicely with this, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the experience. I witnessed a couple next to me ordering bruschetta and gnocchi and it looked divine so I asked them about it and they both gave it a thumbs up. Who would’ve thought that you would find authentic Italian in a little seaside village on the West Coast of Mexico. Give it a shot. You won’t be...
