From the reviews we read it seemed like a hit or miss. We had a miss. We were not able to sit upstairs and watch the sunset, as they said there was private event. So, we started with a sushi roll, which was good, a bit light on the fish. They had a couple of tequilas we had been wanting to try so we did and they were tasty. We had a glass of white wine and it was pretty good ( we live in CA so probably not best to compare). We ordered coconut shrimp and pistachio crusted ahi tuna. The coconut shrimp were tender and cooked well but the coconut was sweetened and they served it with a sweet coconut sauce. In our opinion it should have been served with a different sauce to off set the sweetness or the coconut on the shrimp should not have been sweetened. It was just too sweet. The tuna was a flop. It was prepared with a thick "pistachio crust". The tuna was cold and topping was not cooked so we asked them to cook it more. When they brought it back to the table, it was still undercooked. We like our ahi seared but this just wasnt cooked properly, maybe because of the think goop on top. Good thing we like sashimi as we removed the " pistachio crust" and cut up the tuna and basically ate it raw. The dessert menu looked good but after our dinner experience we decided to journey on to have dessert. Food: 4/10 Drinks:...

These were so delicious. We probably ordered too much too, and left stuffed. I really can’t get enough camarones down here.
I also had a habanero and watermelon margarita that was really good. The first few sips were hot, but then the sweetness takes over. At first I was worried that it was too hot, but then it died down a little. In any case, it’s totally worth a try.
Tierra Viva also has great rooftop seating away from the busy street. It is a little pricey (still less than US prices though), but...

I ordered the tamarindo fish and I was sadly disappointed to find that it was battered and coated with sesame seed. I thought it was be like a seared tuna with the sesame seed on the outside but the batter was poorly done and took away from the fish itself. The sauce was all kinds of odd from it being too sour. I ended up picking off the coating and eating the fish inside bland. The veggies with the dish was butter coated and obviously amazing
I also ordered the avocado bomb stuffed with spicy tuna. It was 90% avo and 10% fish. The ratio was way too off. They need less AVO...
