Update: we came back today and knowing their policies, I informed the waitress we planned to stay for 3 hours and in that time period we would order a total of four drinks and two breakfasts. I asked her if that would be okay because they are so strict about co-working. She said yes that's fine and so we proceeded to order three drinks. There was two of us total. After 1 hour the owner came over and told us we had to leave because we hadn't ordered enough. I explained to him that his staff member had okayed the situation and I explained to him that we were going to have a substantial order. At the time he told us to leave there were three open tables. My original review: One of the few coffee shops in town that offer both AC and good Wi-Fi along with ergonomical seating. They also have an excellent selection of specialty coffees including chemex and some things we have never even tried before. So we absolutely loved this place. They are very strict about making sure you order something every hour, Maybe a little too forceful but I understand the reasoning. It's a small place and sometimes digital nomads can be rude and inconsiderate. If you're going to visit a coffee shop like this be sure to continue ordering on a regular basis just like if you were paying for a co-working space. It costs a lot of money to provide gourmet coffee in a wonderful environment so the rules make sense. We will be back.

Absolutely love this breakfast place just up the hill south of the Plaza. There was something for everyone there, including five different milk options, overnight oats, waffles and tons of sandwiches. Very gluten free and vegetarian friendly, we had the Amigo on gf toast and the yah yah kids plate, and an everything bagel with cream cheese, they were all delicious! There was a bit of a wait for a table for some people that got there after we arrived but they seemed happy to wait for this yummy food! Will definitely be going back soon and 100% recommend for a quick brekky or a leisurely family brunch. This place must have been so popular with the digital nomads that they have signs on the wall and on every table asking patrons not to treat their place as a remote work space, I can see how that would be super annoying to sit next to, so I'm glad they spell it out for the less considerate out there! Oh, and their homemade sauces were out of this world! Jalapeño, Chipotle and honey mustard!! Yah yah Yum!

Love this spot! The staff is amazing! Ended up eating breakfast here multiple times - which is easy to do with their diverse menu. They serve plenty of variations served over toast (avocado toast with options for tomatoes, peppers, eggs, etc), croissants, and bagels. In addition Yah-Yah serves bowls (see photo) with all kinds of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and toppings like coconut and chia seeds. Plenty of options for those with dietary needs. Many vegan/gluten free/etc options. Coffee and tea options are solid. Go with a cup of coffee or go all out with a pour over chemex if you’re into that. Can get busy around mid morning. But with plenty of seating inside and out, you’ll likely find a spot without issue. If you happen to hit Yah-Yah’s when it’s packed, no worries, they offer their entire menu to go.

WARNING: Do not come here if you intend to use a laptop for any reason. You will be reprimanded, as per the owner's rules.

As I typically do as a daily routine, I ventured out for brunch while spending time getting caught up with some personal matters. Based on reviews, I was looking forward to experiencing YAH-YAH Cafe offerings. It was late in their shift. The restaurant was half empty and I was looking forward to a nice casual meal.

After submitting my order I proceeded to pull out my laptop and was immediately approached by the staff who notified me that the use of laptops was frowned upon as they are not an Internet cafe. When pressed further, I was instructed that I could use the internet for an hour, to which I politely agreed.

And while I was only using my laptop to surf the web and watch some YouTube videos during my meal (I'm technically retired), I found that the establishment leaning in with their rules right out of the gate was a massive put-off. As a patron it sends the not so subtle message that you need to eat and then leave.

As a full-time global traveler who's eaten in over 1,000 cafes over the past three+ years, I've never encountered such an aggressive policy towards patrons. I get that they don't care to be an Internet cafe. However, they need to be a bit more mindful of who's paying the bills.

And while the food was adequate, it was the YAH-YAH Cafe's patron policy that left a bad taste in my mouth. No matter how good the food may have been, the meal was tainted before the first bite was taken.

Ultimately, it sends the wrong message. Perhaps the establishment should more concerned about taking care of my needs than putting up barriers to enjoying time as a paying customer. It's unfortunate that that this experience will prevent me from returning again.

In response to the owners:

I left an honest review based on my experience. I think that others should be made aware of your cafe's policies BEFORE venturing into your establishment.

Dismissing my honest feedback as "just another laptop review" demonstrates that you care more about your policy than treating customers properly. The fact that the staff immediately assumed I was a digital nomad was an insult since your policy automatically judges others without knowing any of the facts.

I stand by my remarks as a notification to others. Future patrons deserve the...

These guys have a terrible service. After 45 minutes of siting in my table working on my computer one of the employees told me to go away if was not going order anything else. I told him I was going to order something later and the he said that I was lying, that all the people that work with computers (in his words) always lie about that. I don't know how terrible your business has to be so you have to call your clients liers and I don't know now what's this dude's problem with people that own a computer. Maybe he is right and a lot of people don't order enough food or whatever but if I already told him I was going to order something at least he could be more patient instead of becoming full ape. Also, the coffee is not even that good, there plenty of there coffees with better view, coffee and definitely better customer service. The only reason I Arrived to this place it's because it supposed to be a working friendly cafe with good internet.

Here are my recommendations: Tierra viva (samaller but cheaper and close to the ocean) Lucid (with ocean view and better service) La rustica (not a working friendly place but amazing coffee and great food) Santas Iguanas (my personal favorite, great food incredible service and bakery is...
