BARBARO — Restaurant in Nuevo León

We went for terraza dinner on a Saturday night. The service was attentive and friendly! The menu has a nice selection of plates. We had the zucchini, bread basket, Margherita pizza, spicy vodka pasta, and tiramisu. The zucchini was delicious! It’s filled with cheese and flavor on the inside. I think the serving size could be a bit larger but it was a great appetizer. The bread is the same as the pizza dough, so it’s very good. As for the pizza, the cheese to sauce ratio was great, however we found that it lacked flavor, especially compared to the spicier sauce that the zucchini is served in. The spicy vodka pasta has a great level of spice to it, is rich and creamy. The shape of pasta is a unique choice but we’d be interested in trying another shape with this sauce too. For dessert, we had a tiramisu, cappuccino, and espresso martini. The tiramisu was a very large portion! However, it lacked a flavor profile that makes a tiramisu great. It tasted like it needed a better espresso (it tasted like burnt espresso) to be used in the preparation. Some fruit would be a nice touch here too. I am surprised about how many good reviews this place has. The hostess staff is disrespectful, they can't respect requests on the reservations. The Aperol is mid, I am positive that the recipe is not the original and they charge you almost 200 pesos for it. By far the worst thing was the food. Overcooked pasta with no salt and no taste, burned pieces of bacon on a carbonara. Italians are turning in graves... Also the price does not justify the place. My recommendation is to better spend your money elsewhere, there are many good...

Fui con mucha emoción a este restaurante con mi esposa por culpa de una reseña muy positiva que vi en instagram de "como_comi" que después de probar su comida, a mi parecer exageraron su reseña.

El servicio) aquí no hay queja, el personal super atento, rápido y eficiente.

Lugar y decoración) El restaurante tiene un área de patio espectacular y muy bonito ambiente y decoración.

Comida) es por este punto que hace que los dos puntos anteriores se les baje a una estrella, ya que iba con muchísimas expectativas positivas en base a lo que vi en instagram, la lasagna no venía cómo la muestran en el vídeo de la reseña de "como_comi", además de que la presentación de mi platillo difería a lo que vi en redes sociales, la textura de las 24 capas de la sagna estaba secas al punto de estar sobre horneada (tostada).

Mi esposa pidió una pasta que traía una salsa spicy vodka o algo asi era el nombre del platillo la cual estaba aceptable, pero vamos, no creo que sea la mejor de la ciudad, tampoco creo que esté hecha al momento o mejor dicho hagan su pasta de cero. Con todo respeto pero días después comimos una lasagna con mejor textura y una pasta alfredo con camarones con una salsa más rica en el City market.

Después de quedar decepcionado por su comida ya ni se nos antojo pedir postre porque teníamos de que también fuera una mentira lo que vimos en el vídeo...
