Cuerno Calzada — Restaurant in Nuevo León

Cuerno is undoubtedly a destination-worthy restaurant, and our meal there (we were celebrating my nephew’s college graduation) was exceptional in many ways. The food alone justifies a visit: standouts included the chicharrones de pulpo (a must-order appetizer) and the pulpo zarandeado, along with flawlessly cooked short ribs and steak. While the steak and ribs could have benefited from accompanying sides, their generous portions and quality made this a minor note. Even the cocktails, though slightly milder than I prefer, were well crafted.

That said, at this caliber of restaurant, I’ve come to expect service that matches the culinary excellence. Unfortunately, our waiter seemed stretched thin, with delays in drink orders, a prolonged wait to place our meal, and an overall lack of attentiveness (perhaps due to larger tables taking priority) dimmed the experience slightly.

Still, Cuerno’s kitchen delivers brilliance on the plate, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it. With a bit more focus on seamless service, it could truly shine as the five-star experience it...

My sister found this place for our trip out to Monterrey and I am so glad she did. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with such beautiful ambiance and decorations. The places is so beautiful and modern, makes me want to take it all home! You walk in and from the moment you wit down the service is spectacular. The waiters and staff are on your drink order, food order or if you are comfortable. We sat outside and it was pretty warm which I think on the patio they should have some kind of cooling fans for those warmer days (probably my only complaint) The DJ who was playing on the patio was freaking awesome, he was playing all kinds of genre of music which made the vibe so great. I cannot begin to talk about the drinks, they were super fresh and delicious, if you had any questions they would send a bartender to answer any questions you had. Jorge, Mario, and Ricardo went above and beyond for our group. They were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and guided us through the menu with genuine care… making thoughtful recommendations and ensuring every detail was perfect from start to finish.

The food was outstanding…. every dish was beautifully executed, full of flavor, and clearly crafted with intention. It’s rare to find a place that nails both service and culinary experience at this level, but Cuerno exceeded every expectation.
