La Baguette — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Because being myself a baker, I always try to find goodnlocation abroad, wherever I travel. Indeed this ain't easy being blessed with high quality bread living at german-french-border. However...

I came to this bakery and got a baguette and a slice of pizza.

The baguette was like okay. It wasn't crusty. Nor was it fluffy. But 17pesos it was actually pretty decent.

I rather pay 17pesos a okay-ish baguette, than +35pesos for a baguette which is spongy and feels like a rip-off.

The pizza at 20 pesos was meh, didn't hadq much tasted.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. Doing there job efficient and answering you question.

Just like someone else has mentioned here the service is not that friendly especially by one person, who I think owns/manages the place. Last time I was there they they were making jokes about me in Spanish and laughing while I was putting my purchase into my backpack. They could have waited to do that. The thing is that I understand way more Spanish than I can speak, so it was a very unpleasant experience. Yes, they have some good well priced bakery goods but...

Please read this and think before you visit. The bread is very stale and not fresh and it is very obvious. I saw the lady drop some cheese on the floor and then wipe it and put it back into a sandwich the staff are also very very rude to people. All in all this is a very bad place and to be avoided in my opinion. What the staff need to remember is this; if it wasn’t for the tourists they would not have jobs...
