Cenzontle — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Honestly this is the best burger I’ve ever had. I’ve been a vegetarian for 10 years now, I very rarely crave meat and even rarer eat meat. But on my trip to Mazunte I had a craving for a cheese burger. I’m a vegetarian for multiple reasons but a big reason is that the texture of meat really bothers me, nonetheless I tried there classic 100% real beef (as advertised) and I was not disappointed! I loved it and have gone again and again for their delicious goat cheese classic hamburger! It tastes and feels like real meat in the best way! I highly recommend everyone to try it. It is truly delicious! For stricter vegetarians there is a great veggie burger that my mom had and loved as well! Also the roasted potatoes made me feel like I was back home in Canada. Highly recommend!

As for the restaurant ambiance, I found it to be incredibly welcoming, with a rooftop patio that you can enjoy your food and people watch at the same time.

The people who work there and run it are kind people, who speak very good English. They have great smiles, and beautiful energy.

My wife and I stayed in Mazunte for 2 weeks exploring beaches and the nearby towns. Let me tell you, whenever we were craving burgers, this was our go-to spot. During our time here, we must have gone to this place at least 5-6 times. It was THAT good! The bun they use really made a difference. They get the bun at another favorite place of ours called La Baguette. We ordered the classic to the double meat to the Hawaiian. It was all good. Fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.

The owners Roberto and Ara are just another reason to come here. They are the most genuine and kind individuals you will meet. I ordered a sprite with my burger and the last time we met them, they admitted that they literally went out to a local shop to get a sprite for me since they don't usually carry it. I don't know about you, but that service is top-notch. If you're here, stop by and grab yourself one of the best burgers you will ever try. Came here because I had been in the mood for a burger for over a month and I was more than satisfied.

We were taken to the terrace where the seating area is and it was lovely. Even though the weather was extremely hot, it was still pleasant to sit at and the owner even had a fan up there to help with the heat. I really like that detail and I feel it says a lot about him wanting his customers to be comfortable here.

I ordered a Cenozontle burger and it was delicious. Everything about it was just right, the sauce, bacon, patty and size of the burger was all great. Also the rosemary potatoes that come with the burger were delicious. After this, I had the Agua Fresca of the day which was guava with some lime thrown in. It was fantastic!
