I stayed in one of the private rooms with bathroom. The owner responds quickly, the bathroom was clean enough, and the bed was comfortable. Those are the only good things about the room. The shared kitchen is filthy and only one burner works of the 3 burners. The room was filthy. I hand washed the pillow cases because they smelled unclean, the walls were dirty, there was a thick layer of dust on everything. Cobwebs. The cost was 600 Pesos, the highest I've paid and for the dirtiest place I've stayed at in México. You need to purchase drinking water. The owner will provide you with a garrafon for 20.00 pesos, a good price but when you are paying 600 a night for a dump, water should be included. There are no side tables or night lamps, mosquitos can get in through where the windows have a gap. The place had a smell that irritated my lungs. A ceiling fan and a dirty floor lamp, which i cleaned before using. If you want to reserve the room but don't want to take a trip there beforehand to pay the deposit you need to make a deposit to the owners account at an OXXO, this costs 12. Pesos You can leave your backpack if you want to after you check out in the communal kitchen where there zero security. No pride of place and not a fair value. I stayed here because everything was booked but it wasn't worth it. Don't stay here move on or wait until you can find something that is worth what you...

Our first waiter who knew immediately my Spanish was very poor took his time and was very patient while taking my order. We were served quickly and everything was delicious. I decided I wanted another drink but could only get the attention of a German waitress with long blonde hair (not a local) and this is where the service went "downhill" . I asked her if I could order a margarita and she aggressively (I am not exaggerating) began to speak Spanish to me. Every time I spoke she would retort in spanish until my husband stepped in. He asked her in fluent Spanish for a margarita and she backed down. Apparently she was trying to make a point?? Alas she ended up looking ridiculous. That is the reasoning behind the "2 star" for service....other than that it would have been a 5

Read moreAmazing pizza spot in Mazunte! La Empanada offers some of the best Italian-style pizza I’ve ever had in Mexico. The crust is perfectly crispy, the ingredients are super fresh, and the flavors are on point. I highly recommend the “Especial de Carnes” — it comes loaded with delicious meats and black olives.
The vibe is super chill, perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or family. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast and efficient. They also offer takeout if you prefer to enjoy your food elsewhere.
If you’re in Oaxaca and craving pizza, La Empanada is...
