Service and cocktails on point! Food has some room for improvement.
🪑 setting - a small joint facing the street with a bar in the back. Colorful decoration (mural, lanterns) and the music was pumping but not too loud (something with bass, “chill” music). Some of the chairs were super low and didn’t go well with the height of the tables.
🧑🍳 service - absolutely excellent! There was just one girl running the show tonight and although she was working alone in a full house she was so attentive, responsive and working with a smile and making some time for small talk with customers. She also spoke very good English. Five stars for this amazing waitress, she deserves a raise!
🥗 food - mixed feelings. We enjoyed our nachos starter and my boyfriend liked his pulpo and fish tacos. The pulpo taco comes with an integral piece of octopus (not cut up like in some other places). As a vegetarian I ordered some of the options without meat or fish although unfortunately the one I was really hoping to try wasn’t available (pastor made with sweet potato). I liked how they were creative but they lacked a little in execution. For example the peanut sauce in the vegan taco was super watery so it ran out of the taco and also made it very soggy. It was filled with carrot and then more shredded carrot on top. The avocado tempura taco also had tons of shredded carrot and just one piece of avocado. Unfortunately my partner found two hairs in his taco that were not his.
🍹 drinks - we really liked the cocktails; the ones with lychee and chocolate are great.
🌱 dietary needs - several veggie and vegan options, I’m not sure if they can adapt the menu to other diets.
🚽 facilities - haven’t tried these.
💰 value - the tacos are decently priced and so are the cocktails. While the food didn’t wow us we did have a nice evening and overall pretty nice food for a decent price. Again, kudos to the...
Read moreThe service was absolutely terrible. We ordered an Aperol Spritz, obviously expecting it to have Aperol, Prosecco, and mineral water. When it arrived to the table we took literally two sips in total, and came to the conclusion that there was no way that it had Prosecco. So we asked the waitress about it and she told us that their Aperol Spritzes have white wine instead of Prosecco (it definitely didn’t even have white wineWhen we asked for a replacement for the sub par Aperol Spritz, she proceeded to talk down to us, explaining that “everyone has their own recipes” and sassily added that if we had any doubts about the drinks on the menu, we could ask her to clarify. There was never any doubt, we rightfully assumed that everyone knew how to make an Aperol Spritz. It’s worth noting that every other cocktail on the menu had a description of its ingredients except for the “Aperol Spritz” which should have obviously been described if they were going to do it wrong. She delivered our food and never came back until we ordered the check. Hopefully she will understand her shortsightedness and recognize that fighting over 100 pesos led to her losing hundreds more, not to mention a 20% tip. It seems outrageous that a business that a business that depends on satisfied customers and good service was so unwilling to treat its...
Read moreI see others have also claimed to have food poisoning here too, so not a one off.
Details; I ate here last night with a group of friends. I had the tacos which were decent then I had the cheese cake. I felt it tasted funny at the time, almost like a gentle blue cheese taste but put it down to them using strong cheese as sometimes restaurants will do for cheese cake as the pears were in red wine on top. However early the next morning (today) I’ve been violently sick and on the loo for hours and terrible stomach ache. No doubting its food poisoning and I had nothing other than toast in the morning of yesterday. You also know when something has made you sick as when you think of it, it turns your stomach upside down and makes you feel sick. My friends also had the tacos and I was the only one who had the cheese cake. There is no way it could be anything else that day and I’m familiar with food poisoning and the fact I stated I only had toast and camomile tea that day early in the morning. Please please check your food especially when it comes to diary! Mine was...
