After being disappointed that the restaurant at Mermejita beach is closed on Saturdays and Sundays (who wants to visit a beach on a weekend anyways?), we were very hungry after a hike out to Punta Cometa, and we ended up finding Los Traviesos. The food was very reasonably priced, lots of options to choose from, and great portion sizes, very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they accept visa/Mastercard which is helpful in a town where it’s difficult to get cash out of unreliable bank machines. We were happy to support local Mexican business owners versus hippies who don’t want to run a restaurant on a weekend.

Very nice crispy and huge shrimp tacos. Fish tacos were also huge and had a delicious smoky salsa, but the shrimp tacos were better :) The only thing is that there are tons of flies so I was constantly swatting at my food and wanted to finish quickly. Maybe because bags of garbage were right next to the restaurant. I would get takeaway next time to avoid the flies.

Honestly some of the nicest food from our whole trip, it was soo good and such good value for money. We had two of the specials: prawn tacos and the Chile Relleno de Mariscos (pepper stuffed with squid, prawns and fish). Pics of the tacos don’t do it justice, you got so much fish per tortilla. Order the stuffed pepper you won’t regret it 😍 😍

The food here was incredible. I had the shrimps served in an avocado. It came with rice and chips. Such good value, and it was divine. My partner had the ceviche, very generous again, so fresh and everything well seasoned. Want to go back again already! The table next to us also had a giant fresh fish brought out to them to look at, before it was grilled and that looked...
