Marea – Hotel Quinta Bella Address: Bahías de Huatulco Blvd, Sector P, Chahué 70987, Crucecita, Oaxaca, Mexico
While waiting for my hotel check-in, I decided to unwind in the swimming pool area. The hotel offers an open bar for guests, along with several dining options within the property, making it a convenient and relaxing place to pass the time.
Food
Tostada de Camarones Tempura This appetizer exceeded expectations. The shrimp were delicately battered and fried to a light, crisp perfection, while the accompanying ingredients—fresh vegetables, and a well-balanced spice profile—brought harmony to the dish. It’s a vibrant and flavorful bite that’s both refined and satisfying. Rating: 9/10
Piña Colada & Oreo Chocolate Smoothie I sampled two beverages—both striking different notes yet equally enjoyable. The Piña Colada was smooth, tropical, and not overly sweet, making it the perfect refreshment for a warm afternoon. The Oreo chocolate smoothie, on the other hand, was indulgent and dessert-like, with a creamy texture and just the right level of sweetness. Rating: 8/10
Service
The service at Marea (Hotel staff) was polished and welcoming. Staff members were prompt, professional, and went out of their way to ensure guests were comfortable. Their attentiveness, paired with friendly attitudes, enhanced the overall experience.

The hotel boasts a peaceful and scenic setting. With a view of the pool and lush surroundings, it offers a tranquil atmosphere ideal for lounging or enjoying a quiet meal. Whether you’re here for a drink or dining al fresco, the environment invites you to relax and soak in the laid-back charm of the hotel.

Verdict
Although I only sampled one appetizer during this visit, the overall experience at Marea was highly enjoyable. From the crisp execution of the tempura shrimp to the refreshing poolside cocktails and attentive service, this venue showcases the elevated hospitality one would expect from a boutique resort. I look forward to returning for a more extensive tasting of the menu in the...
Read moreI was looking forward to the tuna tower served at Quinta Bella resort, Marea restaurant. I had the tower last year and the year before. I have craved and raved about. At last, my tuna tower arrived at our table. I had convinced my traveling group to order one, on top of their order. Can you say indulgence. We ended up sticking with light meal so that we would be able to fit bigger meal for dinner. So far, the tuna tower at Marea’s is the best tasting and looking so far I’ve had.
We were seated immediately at a table, on top level area of restaurant. Although, almost 90 degrees outdoors, the cool breeze from a top and electrical blowing fans, off set everything we were feeling. All views were on point (ocean, beach, resort, pool, and other restaurants below), minus construction to the left.
We returned to Marea the following day, for breakfast. Another good dining experience, both food and service. Now we’re ready to explore the week in...
Read moreMy favorite place with ocean view for breakfast. I love the avocado toast, my regular thing there. There are Mexican options and more American ones as well. Be ware to read/ask about eggs style, side orders, so you end up having what you want. They have a variety of coffees and the coffee mugs are really pretty. My favorite time to go is around nine, for the most part we always find a breeze and that makes the place very comfortable. The view is spectacular. Service is very attentive and not overwhelming, which I really like. I would range this restaurant in the reasonable price per person, the only thing I personally would like is to have a refill option for coffee, my own thing though. Think about $300-380 pesos per person (main dish and beverages, maybe a cookie or a...
