Chill Out Restaurant BeachClub - Hotel Princess — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

This restaurant and lounge is part of the adjacent all inclusive resort but it costs extra and is a la cart. We felt like the service at the restaurant was atrocious since the waiter constantly was upselling us on the expensive dishes and alcohol; he basically would only tell us about the most expensive thing and opt out of telling us any of the cheaper options unless we inquired about it. He would misinform us about the food portions to get is to order more dishes in advance and deter us from cheaper options. Furthermore, he said even refused to serve us regular bottled and insisted on expensive bottle water when we are next to an all inclusive resort... Totally ridiculous! It is totally outrageous what the waiter did! I understand that you have to hustle but It left such a sour taste after dinner!

The food wasn't that much better than the buffet or themed restaurants on the resort premise either. You are better off just eating your food and having your drinks there, which is INCLUDED in your package! Not worth the atrocious harassment of the waiter to spend or your money!

Given the tasteless practices of the service, we would NOT recommend this...

Me and my boyfriend spent a week at the Grand Sunset Princess this past week and absolutely loved it, especially the Chill Out Restaurant. We went there our second day at the resort and the food was amazing along with the service and atmosphere. Highly recommend the steak and Oyster Rockefeller from the menu.

We continued to use the beach services at the Chill Out Lounge for the rest of our stay and couldn't recommend it enough. We never had to wait/go early for a lounger. The servers would come with towels and drinks. And it was a quiet spot to enjoy the ocean and vacation. We mostly had Hector as our server and Nicaron as the our bartender/manager (I think). We loved the ambiance with the sound of waves while eating. The service was horrible. The food was ok but not as good as expected, especially that it’s not included with our stay. They billed us 10$ for a bottle of water we didnt ask, what a scam. Service was very long and they never came back to check if everything was good. We had to go see the hostess at the entrance to get our bill and leave because the waiter forgot us. We only went because we couldnt book à la carte restaurant for that night. Not worth the...
