After a long day at Chichén Itzá, my wife and I were craving something different from the resort's usual fare. We both wanted pizza and discovered Funky Monkey Pizza and Grill after a quick search. With glowing 5-star reviews, we decided to give it a try. Contacting them via WhatsApp was seamless, and they responded immediately. Kenneth took great care of us, ensuring our pepperoni pizza and mozzarella sticks were prepared quickly. Within 15 minutes, we met the delivery driver in the lobby.
From the first bite, we were blown away by the delicious flavors and perfect textures. The pizza was the ideal size, and the mozzarella sticks were perfectly gooey. We were so impressed that we messaged them back to share our delight. The food was so good that we ordered from Funky Monkey for the next two dinners, trying the Royal with cheese and their quesadilla, both of which were fantastic.
With great service, fast response times, and amazing food, Funky Monkey Pizza and Grill became our go-to. We even recommended it to fellow resort guests who were also tired of the resort food, and they immediately ordered. If you're in the Playa del Carmen area or nearby, definitely give Funky Monkey a try—you won't be...
Read moreI never enjoy writing a bad review for a locally owned business but this place was a complete letdown. Called in Sunday Night around 8:20pm to order a pizza, Pepperoni. We were staying at the Secrets Moxche resort and asked me to notify the security desk they're coming so I did. Driver pulls up (8:55pm) and hands me the pizza, I pay and didn't check it until I get to my room (my mistake). I messaged them at 9:01pm that the pizza was incorrect, he said I can make you one tomorrow at no cost (I wasn't going to be available so I said no). They came to get the wrong pizza and brought me the Pepperoni, it was cold and had no tomato sauce. I'm assuming it was the original pizza I ordered and brought it cold, my wife and I took a bite and threw it away. Dominos would have been 100x better. I know I over paid, they charged me $515 pesos for a Pizza and Cheese sticks, I paid the guy $550 ($35 tip). Even in the US I've never paid $30 for a pizza. Overall bad experience, as a Business owner myself I would have stayed late and made my customer a fresh pizza since it was my mistake in the...
Read moreI’m at a weird impasse here because I see fake reviews all too often and don’t want to sound like yet another fake review. At the risk of that, my wife and I were wiped out and just wanted some quick pizza by our hotel. We were absolutely blown away with this pizza. It wasn’t the fastest, but you could tell why. It was incredibly fresh and hot and well built. Easily top 5 pizzas we’ve had in our lives and very friendly service, not to mention super reasonably priced. Sort of want to eat here every night the rest...
